Indian actress Anushka Sen, known for her long-standing career in India, is expanding her horizons in the Asian film industry, specifically in Korea. In an exclusive interview, she spoke about working with Olympic sharpshooter Kim Ye Ji in the series Crush and expressed her admiration for Byeon Woo Seok, along with other exciting details.
Working with Olympian Kim Ye Ji
Anushka Sen shared her excitement about teaming up with Kim Ye Ji in Crush, a spin-off series of her first Korean film Asia. She revealed that the collaboration came as a surprise gift from the director, Lee Jung Sub.
“When I found out we were shooting together, I was thrilled. I’m a huge fan,” Anushka said, praising Kim Ye Ji’s dedication and discipline. She described their first meeting as special, noting Kim Ye Ji’s cool yet humble personality. “She is like my eonni,” Anushka added, hinting at the strong bond they formed on set.
Anushka even took the opportunity to learn some shooting techniques from Kim Ye Ji, and the duo’s video has now garnered over 5 million views on Anushka’s Instagram.
During the conversation, Anushka expressed her wish to work with actor Byeon Woo Seok after watching him in Lovely Runner. She shared that she has been captivated by his charm and hopes to collaborate with him in the future. Anushka also mentioned Lee Min Ho as one of her inspirations for pursuing a career in Korean entertainment.
Sneak Peek into Crush
Anushka also gave some insights into her character in Crush, explaining that the series will focus on her backstory. It will depict the journey of her character, showing the hardships that shaped her into an assassin, leading up to her role in Asia. The spin-off will also feature Anushka speaking in Korean, adding to the authenticity of the character.
In addition to her role in Crush, Anushka reflected on her time filming Asia, where she shared the screen with actors from across Asia, including Jang Yoon Young, Daiyan Trisha, Sean Lee, and Pakorn Chatborrirak. She expressed how all the actors, despite coming from different cultural backgrounds, worked together harmoniously.
Beyond her acting career, Anushka recently made her singing debut in the US, becoming the first Indian artist to perform at Times Square.
