The legendary South Korean girl group Baby V.O.X recently reunited for the first time in 14 years, delivering a powerful performance at the 2024 KBS Music Festival. However, behind the scenes, the members faced unexpected challenges—leg cramps and muscle pain. During their appearance on SBS PowerFM’s Cultwo Show, the group shared funny and relatable stories about their comeback stage, revealing they relied on magnesium supplements to power through rehearsals.

The Big Comeback After 14 Years

Baby V.O.X, one of the most iconic first-generation K-pop girl groups, made a grand return to the stage in December 2024. The group, consisting of Kim E-Z, Lee Hee-jin, Shim Eun-jin, Kan Mi-youn, and Yoon Eun-hye, performed their classic hits like “Get Up,” “Sad Accident,” and “Killer.” Fans, both old and new, were thrilled to see them together again after such a long hiatus.

When asked if they were nervous before the performance, the members quickly admitted:

“Yes, we were. It had been so long since we stood on stage. We practiced every day for about two weeks.”

Despite their years of experience, the members found themselves struggling with the intense choreography, leading to some hilarious behind-the-scenes moments.

The Battle Between Choreography and Leg Cramps

The biggest challenge for Baby V.O.X wasn’t just remembering their old dance moves—it was dealing with muscle pain and leg cramps. Shim Eun-jin joked about their secret weapon:

“We all got through it by taking magnesium.”

DJ Kwak Beom added humorously, “It was a performance powered by supplements.”

Lee Hee-jin had the toughest time figuring out her stage positions. Yoon Eun-hye shared a funny moment:

“While I was dancing, Hee Jin unnie suddenly came up behind me, and I started shaking. We didn’t even know we had close-up shots! That wasn’t a thing in our generation.”

Hee-jin defended herself, laughing, “I didn’t mess up the choreography!”

Age Is Just a Number for Baby V.O.X

With Yoon Eun-hye turning 40 this year, the group laughed about all members now being in their 40s. However, they proved that age hasn’t slowed them down. Their high-energy performance showed they still have what it takes to captivate audiences.

The reunion wasn’t just a nostalgic moment—it was a testament to their enduring bond and dedication. Fans loved seeing them back together, and their honesty about the struggles made them even more relatable.

Baby V.O.X’s Legacy and Future Plans

Baby V.O.X debuted in 1997 and quickly became one of the most influential girl groups in K-pop. They were known for their bold concepts and international success, especially in China. After disbanding in 2006, they briefly reunited in 2010 before this full-group comeback in 2024.

In early 2025, they appeared on MBC’s Point of Omniscient Interfere, sharing more behind-the-scenes stories and re-recording some of their hit songs. A new version of “Ya Ya Ya” features Yoon Eun-hye’s vocals for the first time in 27 years, adding another special touch for long-time fans.

The group also announced a solo concert in September 2025 at Kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall, marking their first full concert in 23 years.

Why Fans Love Baby V.O.X’s Honesty

Unlike many idols who only show their polished sides, Baby V.O.X’s openness about their struggles made them even more endearing. Their reunion wasn’t just about reliving past glory—it was about celebrating their journey, challenges and all.

Their story is a reminder that even legends face difficulties, but with teamwork (and a little magnesium), they can still shine on stage.
