Netflix has dropped the official trailer for Beef Season 2, and it brings a fresh serving of tension and dark comedy. The new footage shows a violent argument between a wealthy couple that gets witnessed by their young employees, setting off a chain of manipulations.
The Emmy-winning anthology series returns on April 16, with an entirely new cast led by Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan. Eight episodes will premiere globally on the streaming platform .
New Cast Brings Fresh Feud To Life
Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan star as Joshua and Lindsay Crane-Martรญn, a wealthy married couple whose relationship is unraveling. Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny play Austin and Ashley, a Gen Z couple engaged to be married who work at an exclusive Southern California country club .
The trailer shows Austin and Ashley witnessing a violent fight between their boss Josh and his wife Lindsay through a window. The young couple runs away when spotted, but this encounter gives them leverage. What follows involves favors and coercion as both couples fight for power within the elite club’s circle .
Korean Film Legends Join The Ensemble
The season adds major international talent to the mix. Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung (Minari) plays Chairwoman Park, the club’s billionaire owner who has her own scandal to manage. Song Kang-ho (Parasite) appears as her second husband, Doctor Kim, whose shaky hands and bloodstained cuff in the trailer hint at trouble .
William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover, and musician BM (making his acting debut) round out the supporting cast .
Creator Explains Shift To Passive-Aggressive Rage
Lee Sung Jin returns as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. He told Netflix that Season 2 explores a different kind of conflict. The goal was to make the beef more passive-aggressive this time, focusing on the internal repression of rage people experience in workplace settings .
The showrunner also wanted to highlight generational differences. Josh and Lindsay are millennials years into marriage, while Ashley and Austin represent Gen Z still in the honeymoon phase of their relationship .
Original series stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong return as executive producers after winning Emmys for their performances in Season 1.
