BLACKPINK’s Jisoo recently addressed her journey in solo music and acting after leaving YG Entertainment, sharing her thoughts on balancing both careers amidst fans’ expectations.
Jisoo Balances Acting and Music
Since parting ways with YG Entertainment as individual artists, the BLACKPINK members have pursued various projects while occasionally reuniting for special moments like their 8th anniversary event. Jisoo has been busy focusing on her acting career, taking on roles in the upcoming film The Prophet: Omniscient Reader and the series Newtopia.
However, fans expressed dissatisfaction last month regarding her limited music activities, calling for more musical involvement from the idol.
Jisoo Discusses Her Responsibilities
In an interview with ELLE Korea, where she was announced as the cover star for December, Jisoo shared insights about her acting and singing responsibilities. She explained the similarities and differences between both roles:
“There’s only a difference in the energy shown in each moment, but both require a long commitment and dedication, so the weight of responsibility is the same. However, when I receive a good script, I make an effort to meet with the director and have many conversations. I think it’s important to ensure our direction aligns, as we’ll be working together for a long time.”
Thoughts on Creating Solo Music
Reflecting on her solo music journey, particularly after founding her own label, Jisoo revealed the challenges and rewards:
“There are so many things I have to research and decide on, one by one. It’s challenging but enjoyable, and I’ve come to realize just how many people are helping me. That makes the result even more meaningful, I think. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”
Positive Outlook
While Jisoo’s approach may not align with everyone’s expectations, her enthusiasm for both acting and music suggests a promising future in her solo endeavors.
