Bridgerton Season 4 is finally here to turn the page on a new love story for the ton. The season shifts its spotlight to the artistic and free-spirited Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson. His long-awaited romance begins with a magical encounter at a masquerade ball and unfolds across a two-part premiere on Netflix. The first set of episodes arrives on January 29, 2026, with the second part following on February 26, 2026. This season adapts An Offer From a Gentleman, the third novel in Julia Quinnโ€™s series, bringing a classic “Cinderella” narrative into the lavish world of the ton.

The Central Love Story: Benedict Meets His Lady in Silver

The core of Season 4 is the romance between Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, portrayed by newcomer Yerin Ha. Their story starts at the seasonโ€™s first major event: a masquerade ball hosted by Lady Violet Bridgerton. There, Benedict is instantly captivated by a mysterious woman known only as the Lady in Silver. After a brief, enchanting meeting, she disappears at midnight, leaving Benedict with only her glove and a determination to find her.

Unknown to Benedict, the Lady in Silver is actually Sophie, a resourceful maid working for the formidable Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung). The seasonโ€™s central drama comes from Benedictโ€™s search for the elusive lady, all while he develops a growing connection with Sophie, not realizing they are the same person. Luke Thompson described the season as a mix of “a proper old-school fairy tale” and the “actual reality of the world,” highlighting the conflict between fantasy and the strict social rules of the time.

Yerin Ha shared her thoughts on joining the series, stating, “What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles โ€” something that she constantly has to overcome. Whether itโ€™s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.”

Important New Characters and Returning Favorites

Season 4 introduces key new faces connected to Sophieโ€™s world. Lady Araminta Gun is a twice-widowed society mother determined to marry off her daughters and maintain her status. Her daughters are Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao), a beautiful and ambitious debutante, and Posy Li (Isabella Wei), her kinder, more dreamy younger sister. Showrunner Jess Brownell noted that while Rosamund and her mother are focused on their goals, “the Bridgertons donโ€™t register much for them at first, beyond the fact that Benedict proves to be quite the catch this season”.

Fans will also be happy to see the return of many beloved characters. Simone Ashley confirmed her return as Kate Bridgerton, and Jonathan Bailey is back as Anthony Bridgerton. The couple will be seen enjoying marital bliss and have welcomed a new baby. Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton also return as Penelope and Colin Bridgerton, who are now navigating parenthood with their son, Elliot.

Other returning family members include Claudia Jessie as Eloise, Hannah Dodd as Francesca, Will Tilston as Gregory, and Florence Hunt as Hyacinth. Key figures of the ton like Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), and Lady Featherington (Polly Walker) will also be back.

A New Perspective: Going “Downstairs” in the Ton

A fresh element for this season is a deeper look into the lives of the servants, the “downstairs” world that keeps the grand houses of Mayfair running. With Sophieโ€™s storyline, viewers will spend more time with staff members like Mrs. Wilson (Geraldine Alexander) and Footman John (Oli Higginson), who have had smaller roles in past seasons.

Yerin Ha explained that this shift brings a “new, fresh energy and vibe to the show”. The dynamics in the Gun household are tense, with Ha describing Sophieโ€™s life there as “suffocating and claustrophobic,” highlighting the high stakes for a maid in that era. This focus promises to add depth and a new layer of social commentary to the series.

Season 4 Release Schedule and Episode Information

Bridgerton Season 4 will be released in two parts on Netflix, similar to the model used for Season 3. The season consists of eight episodes in total.

  • Part 1 Release Date: January 29, 2026. This premiere date includes the first four episodes.
  • Part 2 Release Date: February 26, 2026. The final four episodes of the season will arrive one month later.

The titles for all eight episodes have been announced. The first part includes episodes named “The Waltz,” “Time Transfixed,” “The Field Next to the Other Road,” and “An Offer from a Gentleman.” The second part features “Yes or No,” “The Passing Winter,” “The Beyond,” and “Dance in the Country”.

The Future of the Bridgerton Series

The world of the ton is set to continue for years to come. Netflix has already officially renewed Bridgerton for Season 5 and Season 6. While the lead stories for those seasons have not been formally confirmed by Netflix, showrunner Jess Brownell strongly hinted at the Season 4 premiere in Paris. She appeared with pocket squares embroidered with the letters “E” and “F,” suggesting the next seasons will focus on Eloise Bridgerton and Francesca Bridgerton, adapting the books To Sir Phillip, With Love and When He Was Wicked.

This aligns with the seriesโ€™ plan to give each Bridgerton sibling a central love story. Creator Shonda Rhimes has stated the goal is to make “eight seasons or more,” following each of the eight Bridgerton children.
