A short clip and social media posts from the official Bridgerton accounts focus squarely on Penelope and Colin, described as being in the “bliss of newlyweds”. The visual highlights a quiet, intimate moment between them, emphasizing their strong connection after the dramas of their courtship.
Showrunner Jess Brownell has confirmed that the couple is settled into married life, with Colin fully embracing his role as a supportive husband. “We’ve got Penelope and Colin who are fully Polin now… they are merged. Colin is a wife guy,” Brownell stated earlier this year.
In a major update for fans, it was also revealed that Penelope and Colin have welcomed their first child. “The storyline is a bit of a twist on ‘Cinderella.’ You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them,” said Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict. “It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton”.
Yerin Ha, who plays Sophie, described her character as someone who constantly faces obstacles. “What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome,” Ha said. “Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict”.
New and Returning Faces in the Ton
The new season introduces key characters who will drive the drama, particularly around Sophie’s world. Katie Leung joins the cast as Lady Araminta Gun, a twice-widowed socialite determined to marry off her two daughters and maintain her status. Her daughters are:
