The latest social media tease for Bridgerton Season 4 is giving fans exactly what they want: a new, romantic look at the married life of Penelope and Colin Bridgerton. Following their long-awaited union in Season 3, a new video shows the couple sharing a close, tender moment, confirming that newlywed bliss is in full swing. This glimpse arrives as the final countdown begins for the seasonโs two-part premiere on Netflix this winter.
Alongside updates on fan-favorite couple โPolin,โ the upcoming season officially turns the spotlight on Benedict Bridgerton and his โCinderellaโ-inspired love story with Sophie Baek. The season will debut in two parts: Part 1 on January 29, 2026, and Part 2 on February 26, 2026.
What the New Tease Shows About Penelope and Colin
A short clip and social media posts from the official Bridgerton accounts focus squarely on Penelope and Colin, described as being in the โbliss of newlywedsโ. The visual highlights a quiet, intimate moment between them, emphasizing their strong connection after the dramas of their courtship.
Showrunner Jess Brownell has confirmed that the couple is settled into married life, with Colin fully embracing his role as a supportive husband. โWeโve got Penelope and Colin who are fully Polin nowโฆ they are merged. Colin is a wife guy,โ Brownell stated earlier this year.
In a major update for fans, it was also revealed that Penelope and Colin have welcomed their first child. A special social media post from Lady Whistledown announced the birth of a baby boy, Lord Elliot Featherington. An accompanying behind-the-scenes photo shows actress Nicola Coughlan holding the newborn, making the family expansion a confirmed part of the new seasonโs storyline.
Benedict Bridgerton Takes the Lead in a Cinderella Story
While fans get updates on last seasonโs couple, Bridgerton Season 4 is Benedictโs turn to find love. The season is based on the third Bridgerton novel, An Offer from a Gentleman, and follows a classic โCinderellaโ narrative.
The central story begins at a lavish masquerade ball hosted by Lady Violet Bridgerton. Here, Benedict is instantly captivated by a mysterious โLady in Silver,โ who is, in fact, Sophie Baek, a resourceful maid working for a formidable society lady. Unaware of her true identity, Benedict becomes obsessed with finding the woman from the ball, setting up a romance filled with class tension and secret identity.
โThe storyline is a bit of a twist on โCinderella.โ You remember being told those stories as a child โ the magic and the romance of them,โ said Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict. โItโs really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgertonโ.
Yerin Ha, who plays Sophie, described her character as someone who constantly faces obstacles. โWhat drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles โ something that she constantly has to overcome,โ Ha said. โWhether itโs this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedictโ.
New and Returning Faces in the Ton
The new season introduces key characters who will drive the drama, particularly around Sophieโs world. Katie Leung joins the cast as Lady Araminta Gun, a twice-widowed socialite determined to marry off her two daughters and maintain her status. Her daughters are:
- Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao): The eldest, described as beautiful, vain, and her motherโs โmini-me.โ She sees Benedict as a prime target on the marriage mart.
- Posy Li (Isabella Wei): Rosamundโs kinder, younger sister, who is often overlooked by their mother.
Familiar faces will also return. Simone Ashley is confirmed to be back as Kate Bridgerton, offering more of the beloved Viscountess. The core Bridgerton family and Featheringtons will all return, including Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton as the now-married Penelope and Colin, and Claudia Jessie as Eloise.
A notable subplot will involve Penelope Featherington navigating her new, public life as the exposed Lady Whistledown. Teasers show her in a new dynamic with Queen Charlotte, suggesting the Queen may have a use for Penelopeโs sharp writing skills.
