BTS member Jin and Coldplay’s Chris Martin delighted fans with their fun backstage moments during rehearsals for Coldplay’s Seoul concert. A video of Chris lifting Jin on his shoulder went viral, showing their close friendship.
On May 31, BANGTANTV released behind-the-scenes footage from Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour stop in Seoul. The clip showed Jin rehearsing “My Universe” when Chris playfully picked him up, making fans laugh. Jin giggled and joked, “No! I have to rehearse!”

This moment happened during soundcheck for Coldplay’s final Seoul show on April 25. Coldplay also shared the funny moment on their social media, making fans love their bond even more.
Fans called it “princess treatment” for Jin. One fan said, “Chris treats Jin like a baby brother.” Another joked, “He lifted him like a sack of potatoes!” Many loved seeing their friendship shine.
Jin joined Coldplay as a guest for two Seoul concerts on April 19 and 25. He performed “The Astronaut” (his solo song co-written with Coldplay) and “My Universe” (BTS and Coldplay’s collaboration). Their performances were a big hit.
Chris has always praised Jin. At the concert, he said, “Thank you for introducing us to BTS. I’ll always love you.” Their friendship started in 2021 when Jin complimented Chris’s guitar, and Chris gifted it to him on the spot.
Before the Seoul concert, Coldplay teased Jin’s appearance by posting a photo of Wootteo, Jin’s character, on social media. They’ve carried the Wootteo plushie on tour since Jin gave it to them in 2022.
Jin’s appearance was special because it was his first concert after military discharge in June 2024. He last performed with Coldplay in 2022 before enlisting. Fans loved seeing him back on stage.
Other BTS members also supported Coldplay. RM was seen dancing in the crowd and taking photos with PSY. Chris also mentioned V, making fans wonder if he was secretly there. However, no photos of V surfaced.
BTS members are gradually returning from military service. RM and V will complete their duties on June 10, while Jimin and Jungkook finish on June 11. Fans are excited for BTS’s full group comeback later this year.
The viral video of Jin and Chris proves their strong bond. Fans hope for more collaborations between BTS and Coldplay in the future.
