BTS V has made history again by breaking the record for the most-liked Instagram post in 2025. His military update surpassed posts by global stars Billie Eilish and Cristiano Ronaldo, proving his unmatched popularity even while serving in the South Korean army.
On February 23, V shared a rare update from his military service. The post featured candid photos of him in uniform with the caption, “I came to report Sergeant Kim’s survival! It’s D-107.” Fans, known as ARMY, rushed to like and share the post, making it viral within hours.
The post gained over 10 million likes in just 11 hours and 28 minutes. As of now, it has reached 16.41 million likes and 1.74 million shares, making it the top-liked Instagram post this year. Billie Eilish’s post is second with 16.37 million likes, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo with 14.27 million.
V’s Instagram dominance is nothing new. He opened his account in December 2021 and broke multiple records. He gained one million followers in 43 minutes and 10 million in under five hours. His follower count reached 50 million in just 257 days, the fastest ever. His posts usually get around 12.4 million likes on average.
Currently, V is serving in South Korea’s elite Special Duty Team (SDT), a counter-terrorism unit. Despite his military duties, his social media influence remains strong. Fans eagerly await his return in June 2025, when he completes his service.
