Cardi B is back with her first solo single of 2025, titled “Outside.” The song, produced by Charlie Heat & HeyMicki, drops on Friday, June 20. Fans believe itโs a fiery diss track targeting her estranged husband, Offset.
The Bronx rapper announced the release on Instagram, sending her fanbase, the Bardi Gang, into a frenzy. The cover art shows a summer-themed NYC scene with a fire hydrant, dominoes, and party leftovers. Many fans connected the lyrics to her ongoing divorce drama.
“When I tell you these ns ainโt st, please believe me,”* Cardi raps in the first verse. “They gonโ fk on anything, these ns way too easy. Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dogs, Iโm convinced. Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a b**h.”
The track was first teased in September 2024 as an a cappella on Instagram Live. A longer snippet later leaked on TikTok, fueling speculation. One line goes: “Do you know how you do me? Bet you we wonโt speak again. Favorite player from your favorite team, he in my DM.”
This is Cardiโs first solo release since “Enough (Miami)” in March 2024. She also dropped “Like What (Freestyle)” earlier that year. Both tracks were expected to kick off her long-awaited second album, but updates have been scarce.
Fans online are calling “Outside” her “Bodak Yellow 2.0”โa nod to her 2017 breakout hit. Some even credit Offset for inspiring the songโs aggressive tone. Reactions on X (formerly Twitter) are mixed but mostly excited.
“She’s coming to do what Nicki couldn’t, SAVE FEMALE RAP,” one fan tweeted.
“DOWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN BABY! When I tell you Iโm so happy because I ran that snippet out,” another wrote.
However, not everyone is thrilled. “We literally donโt want it,” a critic posted. Others questioned if this single will finally push her album forward.
Cardiโs personal life has been in the spotlight since her split from Offset. They married in 2017 and share three kids: Kulture (6), Wave (3), and Blossom (born September 2024). She filed for divorce twiceโfirst in 2020, then again in summer 2024.
In a recent TikTok Live, Cardi addressed the stress of divorce but stayed positive. “Iโm rich as fck. My love life is cool right now. I got very good friends. I could buy whatever the fck I want to buy,” she said. “The only bad karma right now is that Iโm fat.”
She also revealed her label pushed for “Outside” due to fan demand. “I donโt even care much for the song, but like everybody loves it,” she admitted. “They want me to drop it because they love the reaction.”
Meanwhile, Offset has made cryptic posts about Cardiโs new relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs. After Diggs was seen with matching braids as Offsetโs son, Wave, Offset tweeted: “Now when somebody die for playing with my son then call me the crash out.”

Cardiโs last album, “Invasion of Privacy,” dropped in 2018. Since then, sheโs featured on tracks with Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, DJ Khaled, and Pardison Fontaine. Delays for her next album have been blamed on unfinished features.
“I really need these fcking features,”* she said in a recent live session. “Iโm not trying to press these artists, but come on now. Yโall donโt want to miss this opportunity.”

Despite the hype, Cardi initially hesitated to release “Outside” as a single. “I donโt think I wanna put out a single. I just wanna put out my album all at the same time,” she said earlier. But fan demand changed her mind.
The songโs release comes as Cardi enjoys a busy 2025. She attended the Met Gala, went public with Diggs, and shared the first photos of baby Blossom. Whether “Outside” leads to her album or more drama, fans are ready.
