Choi Hyun Wook takes on a dual role in the upcoming drama My Dearest Nemesis, portraying both a serious company director and a legendary online gamer. He hides his gaming identity, the “Black Flame Dragon,” from his colleagues, including Moon Ga Young‘s character.

Choi Hyun Wook’s Two Worlds

Choi Hyun Wook plays Ban Ju Yeon, who is not only the director of the strategic planning division and future heir of Yongsung Department Store, but also a famous gamer known as the “Black Flame Dragon” in the virtual gaming world. tvN, the drama’s production company, described Ban Ju Yeon as a character “full of twist and charm,” highlighting the distinct contrast between his professional and personal lives. He successfully balances these two very different worlds.

A Glimpse into Ban Ju Yeon’s Life

A recently released teaser provides a peek into Ban Ju Yeon’s dual existence. In one scene, alone in his office, he proclaims, “I am the Black Flame Dragon, and I awaken!” while holding a violet dragon figurine. This scene shows that his passion for gaming is always present, even during his work hours.

First-look stills further illustrate this duality. One set of photos shows him in a casual black T-shirt with a dragon print, wearing headphones and happily holding a figurine. In contrast, other stills depict him as the composed and charismatic director, wearing a suit and displaying a serious expression in his office.

The Connection with Su Jeong

Su Jeong, played by Moon Ga Young, is the only person who has been connected to both sides of Ban Ju Yeon’s life. She was his online gaming partner and first love. However, after she rejected his confession, they lost contact for 16 years. They then unexpectedly reunite as boss and employee.

Drama Details

My Dearest Nemesis will premiere on February 17, 2025. This 16-episode drama will air every Monday and Tuesday.
