Choi Woo Shik described his character, Kim Woo Joo, as a complex individual. “He’s someone who grew up without much love, which made him a lonely person. He seems indifferent on the outside, but he is sincere, loves Yoo Mary more than anyone else, and is a warmhearted person who believes in fate.”

Jung So Min’s character, Yoo Mary, is a struggling designer who finds herself at a low point after being scammed and dumped by her fiancรฉ. In a bold move, she proposes the contract marriage to Kim Woo Joo.

The drama features a strong supporting cast, including Bae Na Ra as a department store executive keeping watch over the couple, and Shin Seul Gi as Yoon Jin Kyung, Woo Joo’s longtime friend.
