The Story and Cast of Silent Truth
Silent Truth is based on the award-winning novel Saikai by Yokoseki Dai. The story follows detective Tobina Junichi, played by Takeuchi Ryoma. His investigation into a murder takes a personal turn when he discovers the weapon is a gun he and three childhood friends buried as a secret over two decades ago. Complicating matters further, one of those friendsโhis first love, Iwamoto Makikoโbecomes the prime suspect. The role of Makiko is played by Inoue Mao. This project marks the first time the two popular actors have worked together.
The drama explores how this buried secret from the past violently disrupts the present, forcing the former friends to face the consequences of their childhood actions. The cast also includes Seto Koji, Watanabe Daichi, and Kita Kana in supporting roles.
Takeuchi Ryoma shared his personal connection to the filming location, which added depth to his performance:
“The location for this shoot is a place I often visited when I was in middle and high school. It’s a place filled with many good and painful memories from my adolescence, and it’s emotional to think that I can naturally channel the emotions I felt at the time into the role!”
The show’s theme song, “Sekai ga Owarimashita” (The World Ended), is performed by the singer Yuri.
