Shirtless Scene That Never Was
The drama “When The Phone Rings” has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, with the dynamic chemistry between Yoo Yeon-seok and Chae Soo-bin being a significant highlight.
During a scene where Chae Soo-bin‘s character, Hee Joo, was hospitalized, the creators considered having Yoo Yeon-seok enter shirtless to showcase his toned abs. However, they decided against it, feeling that such a display would be inappropriate in a hospital setting, where his character maintained a sense of decorum as a government servant.
“They wanted to show his toned abs to the fans. However, they realized it would look out of place given it was a hospital and he was working as a government servant.”

Yoo Yeon-seok expressed regret over not having enough time to flesh out the scenes set in Aragan, a plotline that stirred international discussion. This subplot involved a fictional conflict reminiscent of the Israel-Hamas situation, where Korean nationals were depicted as hostages. Fans playfully questioned what more he wanted to explore in Aragan, given the intense and emotional scenes, including a passionate reunion and the characters’ first intimate encounter.
