Fans of the hit series Heated Rivalry now have a new story to listen to. Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, the actors who became famous for their roles as rival hockey players, are now the voices in a new audio series. The three-part romantasy series Ember and Ice launched exclusively on the audio platform Quinn. The first two episodes became available on December 30, 2025, with the final episode releasing on January 6, 2026. Demand from fans was so high when the series launched that it temporarily caused the Quinn app to crash.
The Story of Two Fae Princes
Ember & Ice tells the story of two fae princes from kingdoms that are enemies. Hudson Williams plays Finn, a prince from the Solari court. Connor Storrie plays Dane, a prince from the Lunare court. The story follows their secret, years-long relationship, which is forbidden because of their families’ feud. The official description says the series is about “choosing love in defiance of expectation”.
This project is a notable change for Quinn. Usually, Quinn’s audio stories are told directly to the listener, making them the main character. Ember & Ice is Quinn’s first duet original. This means the story and the intimate scenes happen between the two lead characters, with the listener as an observer.
Caroline Spiegel, founder and CEO of Quinn, said: “Hudson and Connor have a really special chemistry, and we feel incredibly lucky to work with them. The way they connect with audiences and show up in the cultural conversation is exciting to watch”.
A Fast-Moving Project for a Moment in Time
The decision to create this series with Williams and Storrie happened quickly. According to Quinn’s team, they first had the idea in mid-November 2025, before Heated Rivalry had even premiered. Seeing early excitement for the TV show from online communities, they reached out to the actors’ teams. The series was recorded in mid-December, and the promotional photos were taken on December 16. Author Colleen Scriven wrote the full story in just a few weeks between late November and early December to meet the fast timeline.
The quick timing was a key part of the strategy. Quinn is known for working with celebrity narrators when audience interest is at its highest. Heated Rivalry premiered in late November 2025 and its season one finale aired on December 26. The show created a massive surge in popularity for its lead actors. In the 30 days after the show’s premiere, both Williams and Storrie each gained about one million new social media followers.
Fan Excitement Crashes an App
The announcement and release of Ember & Ice were major events for fans. Quinn teased the project on social media with clues, and fans correctly guessed the stars involved. When the first episodes launched on December 30, the number of people trying to listen was so large that the Quinn app experienced a temporary outage.
This demonstrated the strong connection fans have with the actors. For many listeners, hearing Williams and Storrie together again in a new story, even in a different format, was a powerful draw. The crash showed that the release was treated like a live event by a dedicated fanbase.
Both actors talked about the unique experience of recording an audio-only romance. Hudson Williams mentioned it was a new creative challenge. “I think there is something very interesting about exploring sensuality and erotica just with your voice,” Williams said. Connor Storrie also shared his thoughts, saying, “Before working with Quinn, I had never been in the audio space. I had a lot of fun, to be completely honest”.
