A staggering 18 new actors are joining the cast of Euphoria Season 3. The list includes well-known names like Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and filmmaker Eli Roth.

The full list of new additions includes Bella Podaras, Bill Bodner, Cailyn Rice, Colleen Camp, Gideon Adlon, Hemky Madera, Homer Gere, Jack Topalian, Jessica Blair Herman, Kwame Patterson, Madison Thompson, Matthew Willig, Rebecca Pidgeon, and Sam Trammell.

These actors join other previously announced newcomers for the season. Returning Cast Members

The show’s main stars are returning to their iconic roles. Zendaya will be back as Rue, alongside Hunter Schafer as Jules, Sydney Sweeney as Cassie, and Jacob Elordi as Nate.

Other returning cast include Alexa Demie as Maddy, Maude Apatow as Lexi, and Eric Dane as Cal. Colman Domingo will return as Ali, and Dominic Fike is back as Elliot. Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have been upgraded to series regulars for the new season.

Some familiar faces from the original cast will also be back, including Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Melvin Bonez Estes, Nika King, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson, and Zak Steiner.

Cast Members Not Returning

Some characters from the first two seasons will not be back for the third. Storm Reid, who played Rue’s younger sister Gia, confirmed she will not return.

Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat Hernandez, announced her departure from the series back in August 2022. Austin Abrams and Algee Smith are also not returning.

The new season will also have to address the absence of Angus Cloud, who played Fezco and died in July 2023. His character’s fate was left uncertain after a violent SWAT team raid at the end of Season 2.

Story and Production Details

The third season of Euphoria will feature a significant time jump, moving the characters beyond their high school years. The new season is currently in production in Los Angeles and will consist of eight episodes.

Series creator Sam Levinson has described the new season’s tone as a “film noir.” He shared that Zendaya’s character, Rue, will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”

Zendaya has expressed her own thoughts on the story’s direction. She said she wants to see what Rue looks like in her sobriety journey and how chaotic that might look. She also noted it will be exciting to explore the characters after high school as they figure out what to do with their lives.

The show’s music is also getting an upgrade. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer has joined the show to work on the score for some episodes, alongside Labrinth, who created the iconic music for the first two seasons.

I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.

The journey to the third season faced multiple delays, including the Hollywood labor strikes in 2023 and the passing of actor Angus Cloud. HBO executives have consistently confirmed the show was not canceled and that they remained committed to delivering a third season.
