A new preview for Fallout Season 2 has arrived, showing fans the dangerous and neon-lit world of New Vegas. The series, which returned to Prime Video on December 16, 2025, released the trailer to highlight what is coming in the new weekly episodes. The footage confirms the show’s move to the Mojave Wasteland and teases a key meeting between Lucy MacLean and her father, Hank.

What the New Season 2 Trailer Shows
The recently released trailer offers the best look yet at the setting for this season. The story moves from the ruins of Los Angeles to the legendary New Vegas, a major location from the Fallout: New Vegas video game. The preview shows the iconic neon signs of The Strip, though many are broken, mixing a sense of ruined glamour with constant danger.
A major moment teased in the final seconds of the trailer is the long-awaited meeting between Lucy and her kidnapped father, Hank. Viewers hear Hank’s voice saying, “My little sugar bomb,” to a stunned Lucy. Their journey to find him, alongside the Ghoul, appears to be a central drive of the season.
The trailer also highlights growing tensions within the Brotherhood of Steel. A leader named Quintus tells Maximus, “Together, we will fulfill our promise to make better this fallen world”. However, this mission might lead to conflict, as new character Xander Harkness, played by Kumail Nanjiani, suggests the possibility of “civil war”.
New Cast Members and Factions
Season 2 introduces several new actors to the wasteland. Justin Theroux joins the cast as Robert House, the mysterious CEO of RobCo Industries and ruler of the New Vegas Strip. The character is central to the lore of the Mojave. Macaulay Culkin also appears in a recurring role described as a “crazy genius”-type character.
The trailer and production photos hint at the arrival of major factions from the games. Leaked set photos have shown soldiers from the New California Republic (NCR) and members of Caesar’s Legion, suggesting their power struggle will be part of the show’s story. Fans are also excited to see the first appearance of Deathclaws, the iconic and terrifying creatures of the franchise. Showrunners had said they saved this element for the second season to do it properly.
The Journey to New Vegas and Fan Reactions
Bringing New Vegas to life required major new set builds. A large section of a mall in North Hollywood was transformed into the New Vegas Strip, with facades for famous locations like the Ultra-Luxe casino, Vault 21, and the Lucky 38. The show’s designers also recreated the giant dinosaur statue, Dinky, from the town of Novac.
This attention to detail has generated positive reactions from the game’s fans. On social media, viewers have praised the authentic look of the locations. One fan commented on the portrayal of Novac, saying, “The show stayed faithful to how Novac has always looked in the games, from the layout to the vibe”. Another fan simply stated, “I just enjoyed that it was Novac”, focusing on the fun of recognition over minor changes.
The connection between the show and the games is very close. Developers at Bethesda Game Studios have worked with the TV producers to ensure the show’s events are considered official story, or “canon,” to the game universe. Todd Howard, director of Bethesda, confirmed that future games, including Fallout 5, will exist in a world where the events of the TV show happened.
