What To Expect in Season 2: New Vegas and New Faces
The second season picks up where the explosive first season ended, following the characters into the Mojave Wasteland toward the legendary New Vegas. Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), now uneasy allies, are on the trail of Lucy’s father, Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan), who fled there at the end of last season. Meanwhile, Maximus (Aaron Moten) must navigate his new role as a Knight within the Brotherhood of Steel.
A major draw for fans of the video games is the introduction of New Vegas itself, a key location from Fallout: New Vegas. The show’s creators built massive sets, including transforming a section of a mall to recreate the New Vegas Strip and other familiar locations.
โWe had the delicious idea that at the end of a conflict, 15 years down the line, every faction might think they won,โ said executive producer Jonathan Nolan about how the show handles the game’s multiple endings.
The season will also introduce new and returning characters. Justin Theroux joins the cast as Mr. House, the powerful CEO of RobCo Industries who rules New Vegas. New faces include Macaulay Culkin playing a “crazy genius”-type character and Kumail Nanjiani as a Brotherhood of Steel pilot. The story will also feature factions familiar to gamers, such as Caesar’s Legion and the New California Republic (NCR).

Even before Season 2 premieres, Fallout has been renewed for a third season. Amazon announced the renewal in May 2025, showing strong confidence in the series, which has attracted over 100 million viewers worldwide.
As for what to expect from the story, actor Ella Purnell teased the evolving dynamic between Lucy and The Ghoul, describing it as a “buddy road trip” at times, but also a constant test of morals. Fans can also finally expect to see more iconic creatures from the games, as the creators have confirmed that terrifying Deathclaws will appear in the new season.
