The much-anticipated trailer of Siddharth Anand’s “Fighter” dropped on Monday, promising an emotional roller coaster for audiences. The trailer opens with Anil Kapoor as Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh, guiding his elite team, including Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania (Hrithik Roshan) and Squadron Leader Minal Rathore (Deepika Padukone). The emphasis on building interpersonal relations becomes crucial as the team faces a terrorist attack in Pulwama, leading to a mission of a lifetime and an intense airstrike in retaliation.
Hrithik Roshan shared the trailer on Instagram, dedicating it to the sky and the country, echoing the sentiment of the film’s tagline, “Dil aakaash ke naam, aur jaan desh ke naam. Jai Hind.” The action-packed trailer showcases high-octane aerial sequences, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating the film’s release on January 25.
This collaboration marks the first between Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan. Anand has previously worked with Roshan in projects like “Bang Bang” and the 2019 blockbuster “War.” Deepika Padukone reunites with Anand after “Bachna Ae Haseeno” and the 2023 hit “Pathaan.”
The film, also starring Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover, revolves around the Air Dragons, an elite unit responding to militant activities in the Srinagar Valley. The Fighter team shot extensively at Indian air bases with real Sukhoi and Indian fighter planes.
The official synopsis details the challenges faced by the Air Dragons as they navigate internal and external battles while striving to protect the nation. The Fighter teaser, released a month earlier, showcased the cast in jets, performing aerial stunts, and hinted at a party track and a romantic scene between Hrithik and Deepika.
The trailer was shared by Hrithik Roshan on his Instagram feed, “Dil aakaash ke naam, aur jaan desh ke naam. Jai Hind (the heart is dedicated to the sky and life is dedicated to the country. Jai Hind).”
