The latest two episodes of Hazbin Hotel Season 2 have dramatically escalated the conflict between Heaven and Hell. In Episodes 5 and 6, titled “Silenced” and “Scream Rain,” media overlord Vox solidifies his power, a shocking betrayal is revealed, and the hotel’s residents are pushed to their limits.
Episode 5: “Silenced” – A Rally for War
The tension skyrockets in “Silenced,” which sees Vox hosting a massive rally for his growing army of supporters. He positions himself as the true voice of Hell, ready to lead a rebellion against Heaven. Meanwhile, Charlie Morningstar is in a desperate race against time, trying to contact Heaven for help to prove her redemption project can work.
The episode features a major confrontation when Lucifer, the King of Hell, arrives at the rally. Vox openly taunts him, and to the shock of many, Lucifer is unable to smite him. It is revealed that Lucifer is forbidden from directly harming sinners as part of his divine punishment, making him an authority in name only and emboldening Vox further.
The angels, led by Sera, attempt to apologize for the past Exterminations with a plan that includes giving sinners apology gift baskets. This effort backfires spectacularly. Vox uses their visit to showcase past angelic atrocities, solidifying his narrative and successfully declaring war on Heaven in front of his cheering followers.
The situation ends on a devastating note for Charlie. She feels betrayed when she discovers that her girlfriend, Vaggie, went behind her back to ask Lucifer for help. This creates a serious rift in their relationship just when they need unity the most.

Episode 6: “Scream Rain” – Alliances and a Shocking Mole
In “Scream Rain,” Vox moves to turn his war declarations into reality. His first major step is to secure an alliance with the weapons-maker Carmilla Carmine. He uses a combination of threats against her daughters and promises of victory to convince a reluctant Carmilla to build weapons for his army. This decision disappoints her old ally, Zestial, who chooses not to participate in the coming war.
Back at the Hazbin Hotel, the personal drama continues. The tension between Charlie and Vaggie is palpable, and even Husk reaches his breaking point, quitting his job at the bar and returning to his old vices at a casino. However, a heart-to-heart with Angel Dust convinces him to return.
The episode’s biggest shock comes in the final moments. Vox reveals that he has been using Angel Dust as an unwitting mole inside the hotel for some time. He explains that he used his hypnotic abilities to brainwash Angel, forcing him to spy on Charlie and report back everything, including Lucifer’s weakness and Heaven’s attempts to negotiate.
Vox reveals to Angel that he hypnotized him into spying on the hotel and sending him information about their plans.
To make matters worse, Vox uses the information from his spy to trick Lucifer. He impersonates Charlie’s voice on a phone call, luring the king into a trap for his own mysterious plans.
The State of the Conflict
The fallout from these two episodes leaves Hell on the brink of all-out war. Vox has successfully turned public opinion against Heaven, gained a powerful weapons manufacturer, and exposed the hotel’s secrets from the inside. With the Hazbin Hotel team fractured and a traitor in their midst, Charlie’s dream of peaceful redemption faces its greatest challenge yet.
