The South Indian film industry has been buzzing with some exciting news this week. Among the top newsmakers were Janhvi Kapoor and Trisha Krishnan, who have bagged some big projects in Telugu cinema. Here are the details of their upcoming films and more.

Janhvi Kapoor to star in Ram Charan’s RC16

Janhvi Kapoor, who made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak, is all set to enter the Telugu film industry with Jr NTR’s Devara. The film, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, is a romantic action drama that will showcase Janhvi in a glamorous avatar. The shooting of the film is expected to resume soon after the lockdown.

But that’s not all. Janhvi has also signed another Telugu film with Ram Charan, the son of megastar Chiranjeevi. The film, tentatively titled RC16, will be helmed by Buchi Babu, who made his directorial debut with Uppena. The film is said to be a rural drama with a lot of emotions and action. Janhvi Kapoor is reportedly very excited to work with Ram Charan, who is one of the top stars in Tollywood. The makers are yet to make an official announcement about the cast and crew of the film.

Trisha Krishnan reunites with Chiranjeevi in Vishwambhara

Trisha Krishnan, who has been ruling the South cinema for over two decades, has bagged a role in Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film Vishwambhara. The film, which is written and directed by Mallidi Vassishta, is a socio-fantasy film that will showcase Chiranjeevi in a dual role. The film is being produced by UV Creations, the banner behind hits like Saaho and Radhe Shyam.

Trisha and Chiranjeevi have previously worked together in the 2006 film Stalin, which was a blockbuster. The duo will be seen together on screen after more than a decade. Chiranjeevi welcomed Trisha on board with a video from the sets, where he praised her for her talent and beauty. Trisha, who is making a comeback to Telugu cinema after 18 years, expressed her gratitude and excitement to work with Chiranjeevi again.
