The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is about to get a little smaller. Gege Akutami’s sequel manga, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, is finishing its run in Weekly Shonen Jump. The series made its debut on September 8, 2025, and is ending with Chapter 25. The final volume, the third one, is set for release on May 3.
This short sequel took fans sixty-eight years into the future. It introduced Maru, an alien diplomat from a race called the Simurians, and followed the descendants of Maki Zen’in and Yuta Okkotsu. It was a wild shift from the original horror-action tone, mixing sci-fi with cursed energy.
Even though this specific story is wrapping up, Akutami has left the door open for more. At Jump Festa 2026, he shared a message with fans. A translator shared his words on X (formerly Twitter), where he explained how Modulo started with a simple idea: “If we were to do a spin-off, it’d be interesting to have sorcerers vs. aliens”.
He seems open to trying new things with the universe again. Here are ten stories from the Heian Era to modern-day adventures that deserve the spotlight next.
1. The Golden Age of the Heian Era
This is the most requested story from the community. The original series constantly talked about the Heian Era as the golden age of sorcery. It was the time of Ryomen Sukuna at his full power. It was when Kenjaku started making plans that would last a thousand years.
The main manga ended without ever showing this period. A spin-off set in the Heian Era could explain how Sukuna became the “King of Curses.” It could show the original form of Jujutsu society before the modern rules took hold. For fans who wanted to see the flashbacks that the main story only hinted at, this would be the perfect fix.
2. Yuji Itadori’s Final Days
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo revealed a sad truth about the original hero. Yuji Itadori ages very slowly. He might live for another 300 to 400 years. While the sequel focused on the future of the world, it did not show Yuji finally finding peace.
The original Yuji only wanted one thing: to be surrounded by friends and loved ones when he died. A short, quiet spin-off showing Yuji in his final years would give his character the closure the main ending missed. It would be a simple story about an old man who finally gets to rest.
3. The Rise of the Cursed Corpses
Panda was a fan favorite, but his origin story is deeply tragic. His creator, Masamichi Yaga, figured out how to create Independent Cursed Corpses. These are not just puppets; they are living beings with souls. The higher-ups of the Jujutsu world were so scared of this power that they executed Yaga for it.
What if Yaga had succeeded in creating more? A “what if” spin-off could explore a society of Cursed Corpses. It could start looking cute like Panda but turn into a dark story about a revolution against human sorcerers.
4. The Zenin Clan’s Downfall
Maki Zen’in destroyed the Zenin clan almost single-handedly. It was one of the most brutal arcs in the manga. But what about the history before that? The Zenin clan was one of the “Big Three” families.
A prequel spin-off could focus on the clan during its prime. It could show how they treated non-sorcerers and “failed” heirs like Toji Fushiguro. It would add more weight to Maki’s rampage if viewers saw just how cruel the family was for generations before she burned it down.
5. The Life of Toji Fushiguro
Toji Fushiguro is one of the most popular characters despite having very little screen time. He was a man with zero cursed energy who could beat special grade sorcerers with pure physical strength. His life was full of violence.
A spin-off about Toji in his younger days would show how he got the name “Sorcerer Killer.” It could show his time in the underworld, how he met Megumi’s mother, and why he decided to take the mission against Gojo in the Hidden Inventory arc. It would be a dark action series with a tragic ending.
6. The Creation of the Culling Game
Kenjaku is one of the smartest villains in modern manga. The Culling Game was his master plan, but it did not happen overnight. A spin-off showing Kenjaku traveling through different eras to recruit the reincarnated sorcerers would be fascinating.
Viewers could see him convince ancient warriors to sign up for a game 1,000 years in the future. It would jump through different time periods, showing how Kenjaku manipulated history from the shadows to create the chaos seen in the main series.
7. The Foreign Sorcerer World
The original story mostly stayed in Japan. But Jujutsu Kaisen 0 introduced the idea of the Star Plasma Vessel connecting to Tengen’s barriers, which only cover Japan. What happens in the rest of the world?
A spin-off set in the United States or Europe could explore how other countries deal with curses. The main series teased that Yuta Okkotsu went overseas. A story following Yuta during his time in another country, fighting different kinds of cursed spirits based on local legends, would expand the universe significantly.
8. Kinji Hakari’s Underground Era
Kinji Hakari was suspended from Jujutsu High. His technique, “Idle Death Gamble,” is based on pachinko and gambling. His whole personality screams “underground king.”
A spin-off focused on Hakari during his suspension would be a fun change of pace. It could focus on him running his fight clubs and gambling dens while dealing with curses that attack non-sorcerers in those shady areas. It would be less about saving the world and more about protecting his turf.
9. The Past of the Gojo Clan
Satoru Gojo was the strongest because he had the Six Eyes and the Limitless technique. But he was not the first. The Gojo clan is one of the big three families, yet the series rarely showed them.
A spin-off about a previous Six Eyes user could be very tragic. Every previous user died young, often killed by Kenjaku. This could show the cycle of violence that Satoru was born into. It would make his fight against Kenjaku feel more personal, as he is avenging generations of his family.

10. A Comedy Spin-off (Jujutsu High Daily Life)
Not every story needs to be about death and tragedy. The main series had very funny moments, like the baseball game or the group interactions before things got dark.
A slice-of-life spin-off focusing on the daily life of the Tokyo and Kyoto students would be a hit. Seeing Nobara, Yuji, and Megumi just trying to pass exams while dealing with Gojo’s terrible teaching methods would be a light-hearted way to revisit the original cast. It would let fans spend more time with the characters they lost without the pressure of a high-stakes plot.
