KATSEYE has entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with their latest single “Gnarly.” The global girl group debuted at No. 92 on the prestigious chart, marking a major milestone in their career. This achievement comes less than a year after their official debut in 2024.

The Hot 100 ranks the most popular songs in the United States based on streaming, radio play, and sales. KATSEYE’s entry shows their growing influence in the global music scene. The group also re-entered the Emerging Artists chart at No. 11 this week.

“Gnarly” was released on April 30, 2025, as the lead single from their upcoming EP Beautiful Chaos. The song is a bold shift from their earlier bubblegum pop sound, featuring experimental production and confident lyrics. A high-energy music video accompanied the release, featuring neon visuals and sharp choreography.

“Weโ€™re giving you a view of whatโ€™s โ€˜Gnarlyโ€™ from global girl group KATSEYE. And is that Jay??? In the high-octane new music video, the girls explain exactly what โ€˜Gnarlyโ€™ is โ€” and if you get it, you get it,” said Tetris Kelly from Billboard.

The track also performed well on other Billboard charts. It debuted at No. 39 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 47 on the Global 200. These rankings measure worldwide streaming and sales, proving KATSEYE’s international appeal.

Before “Gnarly,” KATSEYE gained attention with their 2024 debut EP SIS (Soft Is Strong). Its single “Touch” peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 and spent two weeks on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. The viral dance challenge for “Touch” helped boost its popularity.

KATSEYE was formed through the 2023 reality show Dream Academy, a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records. The six-member group includes Sophia, Daniela, Yoonchae, Manon, Megan, and Lara, representing multiple nationalities. Their multicultural background has been a key part of their branding.

HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sung previously praised the groupโ€™s success. “The group has received so much attention and affection from listeners and music critics worldwide. The success of KATSEYE demonstrates that the K-pop system can work in the U.S.,” he said during an earnings call.

Apart from music, KATSEYE has made waves in fashion. They attended New York Fashion Week for Coach and starred in Fendiโ€™s 100th-anniversary campaign. Their bold style and creative direction have earned them comparisons to iconic groups like the Pussycat Dolls and Spice Girls.
