The late actress Kim Sae Ron’s final project, Everyday We Are, will premiere posthumously as both a film and a seven-episode drama series. The project, initially canceled, has completed post-production and is set to honor her legacy .

Project Revival and Release Details

Everyday We Are was originally planned as a drama series but faced cancellation rumors after Kim Sae Ron’s 2022 drunk driving incident. However, investigations confirmed she had already finished filming before her passing, and the team decided to proceed with a dual release. The film version will debut first, followed by the series .

Director Kim Min Jae, who worked closely with Kim Sae Ron, shared:

“She had a strong passion for acting and a deep understanding of her character. She translated directions into performances uniquely and quickly. I hope audiences remember her through this project.” .

The director also revealed his emotional struggles, stating, “I regret not being able to support her more during her difficult times. Releasing this work is my way of honoring her talent” .

The drama version of Everyday We Are, starring Kim Sae Ron and Lee Chae Min, is set to air as a 60-minute, 7-episode series.

Storyline and Cast

Adapted from KakaoPage’s webtoon Woorineun Maeilmaeil, the coming-of-age story explores first love and friendships. Kim Sae Ron plays Han Yeo Wool, a basketball-loving high school student, while Lee Chae Min portrays her childhood friend Oh Ho Soo, who harbors secret feelings for her. The drama also features Ryoo Ui Hyun and Yu Ju in supporting roles .

Kim Sae Ron’s Career Challenges and Passing

Kim Sae Ron, who debuted as a child actress in A Brand New Life (2009), faced career setbacks after her 2022 DUI incident. She was removed from projects like Bloodhounds and worked part-time to recover financially. Despite announcing a comeback with Guitar Man and changing her name to Kim Ah Im, she tragically passed away on February 16, 2025, at age 24. Police found no signs of foul play .
