Prime Video has found its live-action Max Caulfield and Chloe Price. Tatum Grace Hopkins and Maisy Stella will star as the iconic duo in the upcoming adaptation of the beloved video game Life Is Strange.
The casting news comes as production ramps up on the series, which was first announced in September 2025. Amazon MGM Studios confirmed the selection with a first-look poster on social media, putting an end to months of speculation about who would bring these fan-favorite characters to the screen .
Tatum Grace Hopkins Takes on Max Caulfield
Tatum Grace Hopkins will make her television debut as Max, the photography student who discovers she can rewind time. While new to TV, Hopkins brings significant stage experience to the role. She has performed in Broadway productions including The Queen of Versailles and For the Girls . She also starred in the short film Meek, which screened at the Montclair Film Festival in 2024 .
The character of Max stands at the center of the Life Is Strange story, a role that requires capturing both her quiet observation skills and the weight of life-altering decisions. Hopkins will step into these shoes as her first major screen role.
Maisy Stella Steps Into Chloe Price’s Blue Hair
Maisy Stella will play Chloe Price, Max’s rebellious childhood best friend with the signature blue hair. Stella brings name recognition to the project, having spent six seasons as Daphne Conrad on the hit ABC music drama Nashville .
She made her film debut in the critically acclaimed My Old Ass opposite Aubrey Plaza in 2024, a performance that earned her an Independent Spirit Award . Stella also appears in Maude Apatow’s directorial debut Poetic License and will star alongside Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor in Flowervale Street, due out later this year .
The casting corrects earlier rumors from January that suggested Stella would play Max. Amazon MGM Studios made the distinction clear this week when they unveiled the first poster featuring both actresses .
