Fans of the charming thief Assane Diop can finally mark their calendars. Netflix has officially confirmed that Lupin Season 4 (also called Part 4) will arrive on the streaming service in fall 2026. This announcement comes after a three-year wait since Part 3 concluded in October 2023, signaling the next major chapter for one of Netflix’s most successful non-English series.

When to Watch Lupin Season 4

The exact release date within the fall 2026 window is still to be announced. However, Netflix has confirmed the season will consist of eight episodes, following the pattern of previous parts. Production for the new season has been underway since at least May 2025, wrapping up in September of the same year, which puts the show on track for its planned release.

The Full Cast Returning for the New Season

Omar Sy will, of course, return in his iconic role as Assane Diop, the gentleman thief inspired by the classic literary character Arsรจne Lupin. He will be joined by a core group of returning fan favorites:

  • Ludivine Sagnier as Claire Laurent, Assane’s former wife.
  • Antoine Gouy as Benjamin Fรฉrel, Assane’s loyal best friend.
  • Soufiane Guerrab as Youssef Guรฉdira, the tenacious police detective.
  • Shirine Boutella as Sofia Belkacem, the journalist.
  • Thรฉo Christine and Laรฏka Blanc-Francard are also confirmed to return, with their specific roles highlighted as part of the returning ensemble.

Where Part 3 Left Off and What Could Happen Next

The new season will have to address the major cliffhanger that ended Part 3. In a shocking move to protect his family, Assane turned himself in to the police. The season concluded with him in a prison cell, though a collection of Arsรจne Lupin books hinted that his story was far from over.

Before his surrender, Assane had successfully pulled off the daring theft of the Black Pearl, faked his own death, and saved his estranged mother’s life. Season 4 is expected to explore the aftermath of his imprisonment and how a master of disguise operates from behind bars. With old enemies like the Pellegrini family still a threat, Assane’s fight for justice and safety for his loved ones is set to continue.

โ€œI often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything,โ€ Omar Sy told Netflix. โ€œI find great joy in it every time.โ€

The Global Popularity of the Hit Series

Since its debut in January 2021, Lupin has been a record-breaking hit for Netflix. Part 1 was viewed by an estimated 70 million households in its first 28 days, making it one of the platform’s most-watched non-English series ever. It was the first French-language series to reach the number one spot in the United States and several other countries. The show’s success continued with subsequent parts, solidifying its status as a global phenomenon.

The series is created by George Kay in collaboration with Franรงois Uzan, with contributions from Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer, and Tigran Rosine. Omar Sy and director Louis Leterrier serve as the showrunners. Lupin is produced by the French studio Gaumont in collaboration with Carrousel Studios.

All previous seasons of Lupin are available to stream on Netflix globally for audiences who want to revisit the story before Part 4 arrives in fall 2026.
