Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell star in the new romantic fantasy film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. The trailer shows them traveling through time to relive key moments from their past. The movie releases in theaters on September 19, 2025.

The story follows Sarah (Robbie) and David (Farrell), two strangers who meet at a wedding. A mysterious GPS leads them to magical doorways that take them back in time. They revisit important moments that shaped their lives and may change their futures.

Director Kogonada, known for After Yang, blends romance and fantasy in this unique love story. The film also stars Kevin Kline, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Lily Rabe.

Robbie called the filming experience “one of the most magical” of her life. Farrell said the movie helped him move from dark roles like The Penguin to something lighter.

The trailer features stunning visuals, emotional moments, and humor. Robbie teases Farrellโ€™s Irish accent, while both characters explore their pasts. The music comes from Joe Hisaishi, famous for his work on Studio Ghibli films.

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey was written by Seth Reiss (The Menu). The script was on the 2020 Black List of best unproduced screenplays. Sony Pictures acquired the film for around $50 million earlier this year.

Farrell described the film as “magical realism.” He said it explores loneliness and second chances in relationships. Kogonada compared the tone to Hayao Miyazakiโ€™s films and The Truman Show.

Robbie last appeared in Barbie, which earned $1.4 billion worldwide. Farrell recently starred in The Penguin series for HBO. Both actors bring strong chemistry to this new project.

The trailer debuted at CinemaCon, where Kogonada said he wanted audiences to watch it in theaters. The film promises a mix of heart, adventure, and fantasy.
