Fans of Moon Knight have been waiting for news about a second season since the show ended in 2022. The Disney+ series, starring Oscar Isaac, was a hit, but Marvel Studios has kept quiet about its future. Now, the show’s creator, Jeremy Slater, has shared an update on what needs to happen for Moon Knight Season 2 to become a reality.

The first season introduced Marc Spector, a man with dissociative identity disorder (DID), and his alternate personalities, Steven Grant and Jake Lockley. The finale teased more adventures with Jake, but Marvel has not confirmed a continuation. Slater says the decision rests with two key people: Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Oscar Isaac himself.

“Talk to Kevin Feige. Talk to Oscar Isaac. I think the ball’s really in their court,” Slater said in an interview with ComicBook. “It’s as much or as little Moon Knight as Oscar wants to do. Kevin’s the guy with the master plan, and I think when he comes up with a way to really incorporate Moon Knight into there… It’s my hope that we’re gonna see him again, but I’m as curious as the rest of you guys.”

Marvel has not completely abandoned Moon Knight. Brad Winderbaum, a Marvel executive, hinted that the character will return in some form. “There are plans for Moon Knight down the road,” he said. However, a second season may not be the immediate focus. Marvel is currently wrapping up Phase 6 with big projects like Avengers: Doomsday.

Oscar Isaac’s busy schedule could also be a factor. The actor has not confirmed if he will return as Moon Knight. His name was missing from the Avengers: Doomsday cast list, but Marvel may announce more actors later. Fans hope to see Moon Knight in future films or shows, possibly in Midnight Sons, a team that includes supernatural heroes like Blade and Doctor Strange.

The first season of Moon Knight was well-received, earning an 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It was also one of Disney+’s most-watched shows in 2022. Despite its success, Marvel has not confirmed a second season yet. Some fans believe the character could appear in other MCU projects before getting his own show again.

Moon Knight was part of a wave of Disney+ shows introducing new characters to the MCU. Marvel’s strategy has since shifted toward longer-running series, like Daredevil: Born Again. This change could mean Moon Knight returns as a multi-season show rather than a one-off.

For now, fans will have to wait for updates from Marvel or Oscar Isaac. The show’s future depends on Feige’s plans and Isaac’s interest in returning. Until then, the first season is available to stream on Disney+.
