What Happened Before: The Big Reveal

Episode 13 follows a major revelation that changed everything. In episode 11, Crown Prince Lee Gang discovered that Park Dal-i is actually his wife, Crown Princess Kang Yeon-wol, who was believed to be dead. She had been suffering from amnesia, unaware of her true royal identity.

The reunion was emotional. While Lee Gang was overcome with apology, Dal-i responded by telling him that a hug would be better than him kneeling. This discovery is the key to Lee Gang’s five-year quest for revenge against those who orchestrated his wife’s supposed death.

The Main Cast Behind the Characters

The drama features a strong ensemble cast who bring the story of Moon River to life.

  • Kang Tae-oh plays Crown Prince Lee Gang, a man who hides his grief and quest for revenge behind a carefree public persona.
  • Kim Se-jeong plays Park Dal-i, the spirited merchant with amnesia who looks identical to the prince’s late wife.
  • Lee Shin-young plays Prince Jeon, the cousin of Lee Gang.
  • Hong Soo-joo plays Kim Woo-hee, described as “the most beautiful woman in Joseon.” Director Lee Dong-hyun revealed her unique voice was a key reason for her casting.
  • Jin Goo plays the powerful and scheming Kim Han-chul, the main antagonist as Left State Councilor.

The supporting cast includes Kim Nam-hee as King Lee Hee and Park Ah-in as Park Hong-nan.

What to Expect in the Final Episodes

As the series approaches its end, all major storylines are converging. The central conflict pits Lee Gang and Dal-i against the formidable Kim Han-chul, who seeks to control the royal court. With Dal-i’s true identity now exposed, their relationship must survive the dangerous politics of the palace.

The mysterious group known as Mumyungdan continues to operate, exposing royal conspiracies and adding another layer of threat. The fates of all characters, including Prince Jeon and Kim Woo-hee, will be decided in the final two episodes.

The series finale, Episode 14, is scheduled for release on Saturday, December 20, 2025, closing out this 14-episode series.

When I met with Hong Soo-joo, I found her voice tone to be incredibly attractive. I was mesmerized by her unique vocal color and decided to cast her.

The drama has seen its viewership grow since its premiere on November 7, 2025. Starting at 3.8%, ratings have consistently climbed past the 5% mark in recent episodes, indicating a strong connection with audiences.
