Rami Malek once again plays Elliot Alderson. Season 2 begins with Elliot trying to build a life of strict routine and control after the traumatic events of the 5/9 hack. He lives with his mother, attends regular therapy sessions, and keeps a detailed journal. His primary goal is to stop his alter ego, Mr. Robot, from taking over his life and actions. He repeatedly writes “I am in control” in his diary as a mantra.
Christian Slater plays Mr. Robot, who is now fully understood by the audience as a part of Elliot’s mind.
