Netflix has released an exciting new trailer for One Piece Season 2, titled Into the Grand Line, giving fans their best look yet at the Straw Hat Pirates’ next adventure. The season is set to premiere worldwide on March 10, 2026. The latest preview introduces a dangerous new group of villains and offers a glimpse of the highly anticipated live-action debut of fan-favorite character Tony Tony Chopper.

The Grand Line Adventure Begins March 10

The new season finds Monkey D. Luffy (Iรฑaki Godoy) and his crew finally entering the legendary Grand Line, a treacherous stretch of sea they have been seeking since the series began. According to the official description, the crew will face “fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet” as they search for the world’s greatest treasure.

Season 2 will adapt several key story arcs from the original manga, including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. This part of the story covers manga chapters 96 through 154. The season has completed filming in South Africa and will consist of eight episodes.

Meet the New Villains: Baroque Works

The central threat of the new season is Baroque Works, a secret society of assassins. The new trailer, titled “Rise of the Baroques,” showcases several key members of this criminal organization who will challenge Luffy and his friends.

The revealed Baroque Works agents include:

  • Lera Abova as Miss All-Sunday (Nico Robin)
  • Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday
  • David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3
  • Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5
  • Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine
  • Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9
  • Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek

In the trailer, Miss All-Sunday delivers a warning to Luffy, stating, “You might think you’re unstoppable, but your friends aren’t made of rubber”.

Tony Tony Chopper Joins the Crew

A major highlight of the upcoming season is the introduction of Tony Tony Chopper, the crew’s doctor who is a reindeer with the ability to transform and speak. The character is brought to life through a combination of performance and visual effects, with Mikaela Hoover providing the voice and facial capture.

Hoover shared her excitement about portraying the character, noting his complex personality. “What excited me about playing Chopper is the tug of war between his standoffishness and his huge heart,” she said. “He tries so hard to hide his emotions and put on a tough exterior, but underneath, he’s a big softy, and his love can’t help but come out”.

Series creator Eiichiro Oda also expressed his enthusiasm for Chopper’s live-action debut. In a social media post, Oda praised the team’s work, calling the character “our weird talking animal” and highlighting the extensive effort put into his design, fur, expressions, and voice.

A Greatly Expanded Cast for New Adventures

Beyond Baroque Works and Chopper, Season 2 features a significant expansion of the live-action world with over 30 new cast members.

Notable new additions include:

  • Joe Manganiello as the mysterious Mr. 0.
  • Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, a doctor living on Drum Island.
  • Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra.
  • Callum Kerr as Marine Captain Smoker, and Julia Rehwald as his subordinate Tashigi.
  • Clive Russell as Crocus, the lighthouse keeper at the entrance to the Grand Line.

The main Straw Hat crew from Season 1 all return, including Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Jacob Romero as Usopp.

Behind the Scenes and the Road Ahead

Production on One Piece Season 2 has wrapped, with filming taking place in South Africa. The series is co-showrun for the second season by Matt Owens and Joe Tracz. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the original manga, remains deeply involved as an executive producer and visited the set during filming.

The live-action One Piece was a major success for Netflix upon its debut in 2023. The first season spent eight weeks in the Global Top 10, reached the number one spot in over 75 countries, and became the first Netflix English-language series to debut at number one in Japan. It has garnered nearly 100 million views on the platform.

Netflix has already renewed One Piece for a third season, which is currently in production. The upcoming second season sets the stage for the larger Alabasta Saga, which will be the focus of the third season.
