Netflix has shared six new pictures from the first half of Bridgerton Season 4, offering fans a detailed preview of the romantic and dramatic stories set to unfold. The images come directly from the initial four episodes of the new season, which is scheduled to premiere in two parts later this month.

The upcoming season finally puts the spotlight on Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson. After three seasons of watching his siblings find love, the artistic and free-spirited second son steps into the center of his own romantic tale. His story begins when he meets a captivating woman known only as the Lady in Silver at a masquerade ball. Unbeknownst to him, she is Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), a maid with a secret past.

A First Look at the Key Photos and Scenes

The newly released photos provide clues about several plotlines developing within the ton. One image shows the core couple, Benedict and Sophie, sharing a quiet, candlelit moment in a shadowy room, pointing to the intimate and forbidden nature of their connection.

Another picture captures Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) and Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) walking together in a garden, likely exchanging the latest society news and advice. A third shows a happy Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) with her husband, John Stirling (Victor Alli), glowing at a social event, suggesting their married life is going well.

The photos also highlight moments of change within the Bridgerton family. One scene depicts a younger Gregory Bridgerton (Will Tilston) sitting for a shave while Benedict and Colin (Luke Newton) watch with amusement, a simple sign that the family’s children are growing up. Another image features Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) and Lady Danbury in a serious conversation over tea. A final, peaceful shot shows Sophie Baek alone in a sunlit garden.

The Central Romance: Benedict’s Search for the Lady in Silver

Bridgerton Season 4 adapts the third novel in Julia Quinn’s series, An Offer from a Gentleman. The story focuses on Benedict’s search for the mysterious woman he met at his mother’s masquerade ball. With reluctant help from his sister Eloise (Claudia Jessie), he scours society for the Lady in Silver.

He does not know that the woman he seeks is actually Sophie, a resourceful maid working for the formidable Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung). When fate brings Benedict and Sophie together again, he is torn between his growing affection for the maid and his fantasy of the masked lady, not realizing they are the same person.

Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict, discussed the season’s theme. “The whole bringing in of a character like Sophie, the downstairs element, just brings a whole new reality to the world of Bridgerton,” he said. “I think every season is different, but I think this one really, the DNA slightly changes.”

Yerin Ha, the actress playing Sophie, shared her thoughts on the relationship. “I love that they want to settle down, and also because society has told them maybe they canโ€™t โ€” especially for Sophie. It makes it even more special that maybe they found themselves.”

New and Returning Characters in the Ton

Alongside the central romance, the new season will follow other familiar faces and introduce new characters to Mayfair’s social scene.

  • Returning Favorites: Viewers can expect to see more of Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton, now married, as well as Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley). Eloise and Hyacinth Bridgerton (Florence Hunt) are also featured in the new photos.
  • The Li Family: Key newcomers include Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei), the daughters of Lady Araminta Gun. They are described as perfect debutantes entering the marriage market, with Rosamund being particularly focused on their social goals.
