The Story and Main Characters
The series is a fantasy romance based on Korean folklore. It follows Eun-ho, a centuries-old gumiho (nine-tailed fox) played by Kim Hye-yoon. A gumiho is a mythical creature that can grant wishes. After doing enough good deeds to grow nine tails, it can become human.
Eun-ho is different. She enjoys her immortal life and has decided she never wants to be human. She uses her powers to grant wishes for wealthy clients but avoids any real connection to the human world.
Her life turns upside down after an accident involving Kang Si-yeol, a world-famous soccer star played by Lomon. Si-yeol is known for his incredible talent but also for being self-centered and living a very strict life. This unexpected event causes Eun-ho to lose her powers and transforms her into an ordinary human.
“Thrown together by fate (and a wish gone sideways), Eun-ho and Si-yeol tumble into a push-and-pull, love-hate relationship,” notes the official Netflix description.
