Police have sent the case of a former Spire Entertainment executive to prosecutors. She is accused of sexually harassing six members of the K-pop group OMEGA X. The trial is expected to begin in June.

The Seoul Hyehwa Police Station confirmed on May 7 that the former director, referred to as Kang, was charged with indecent assault. She is the wife of Spire Entertainment’s CEO and allegedly abused her power to harass the members during overseas tours and agency meetings.

Seven out of eleven OMEGA X members filed complaints in August 2023. They claimed Kang touched them without consent, including hugging, linking arms, and inappropriate physical contact. Police found evidence supporting six members’ claims but dismissed one case involving member Hwichan.

Kang denied the accusations and filed a counter-complaint against Hwichan, alleging he harassed her. That case was also sent to prosecutors but remains under investigation.

OMEGA X left Spire Entertainment in 2023 after winning a court case to terminate their contracts. They later signed with IPQ Entertainment, a subsidiary of Danal Entertainment.

The group first spoke out in 2022, sharing recordings of Kang yelling at and physically assaulting members. They described a year of abuse, including forced drinking, threats, and sexual harassment.

One member, Jaehan, accused Kang of pulling his hood violently in Los Angeles, causing him to fall. Prosecutors fined her 500,000 KRW, but she is challenging the penalty in court.

Spire Entertainment held a press conference in March 2024, releasing a video they claim shows Hwichan harassing Kang. They said the footage was recently recovered and would be used as evidence.

IPQ Entertainment defended OMEGA X, stating:

“The members fought against injustice bravely and never gave up on their promises to fans. Their story represents one of the most courageous narratives in K-pop history.”

Spire Entertainment also accused IPQ of tampering, but courts and the Fair Trade Commission ruled in favor of OMEGA X. The group continues activities under their new agency.

The trial for Kang’s assault and harassment charges is set for June. Meanwhile, the legal battle between her and Hwichan remains unresolved.

OMEGA X debuted in 2021 under Spire Entertainment. The members—Jaehan, Hwichan, Sebin, Hangyeom, Taedong, Xen, Jehyun, Kevin, Junghoon, Hyuk, and Yechan—were previously in other K-pop groups before joining OMEGA X.
