Fans of the hit drama Reply 1988 were thrilled to see Park Bo Gum and Hyeri reunite at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards on May 5, 2025. The two actors, who played the beloved on-screen couple Choi Taek and Sung Deok Sun, shared sweet moments at the event, sparking nostalgia among viewers.
Hyeri posted several photos from the awards night on Instagram, including playful photobooth pictures with Park Bo Gum. In one shot, he made a heart shape with his hands over her cheek, recreating their iconic chemistry from Reply 1988. The photos quickly went viral, with fans begging for another drama collaboration.
“Baeksang Arts Awards, which I went to for ‘Victory.’ I was so honored just to be nominated,” Hyeri wrote on Instagram.
Both actors attended the ceremony as nominees. Hyeri was up for Best New Actress (Film) for her role in Victory, a movie about a high school cheerleading squad. Park Bo Gum, who co-hosted the event, was nominated for Best Actor (TV) for his performance in When Life Gives You Tangerines. Neither won, but their reunion became one of the nightโs highlights.
The Baeksang Arts Awards celebrated the best in Korean entertainment, with When Life Gives You Tangerines winning Best Drama and Harbin taking Best Film. But for many fans, the real standout moment was seeing Park Bo Gum and Hyeri together again after nearly a decade.
Their reunion was especially surprising because fans expected Park Bo Gum to share screen time with IU, his co-star in When Life Gives You Tangerines. Instead, he brought back memories of Reply 1988, which aired in 2015 and remains a fan favorite.
Hyeri looked elegant in a white gown, while Park Bo Gum matched her in a black blazer. Their stylish looks and natural chemistry reminded fans why they fell in love with Deok Sun and Taek. Many took to social media to express their excitement, with some calling for a Reply 1988 rewatch.
The two will reunite again soon on Hyeriโs YouTube show, Hyellโs Club, to promote Park Bo Gumโs upcoming drama Good Boy. The action-comedy series, set to premiere on May 31 on Amazon Prime Video, follows former Olympians who become police officers.
Fans hope this reunion leads to more collaborations. The 10th anniversary of Reply 1988 has brought back fond memories, and seeing the two together again was a special treat.
