Park Hyung-sik is set to lead a role-reversal office romance series for Netflix alongside Park Gyu-young, with production now underway.
The streaming giant confirmed on April 6, 2026, that the two actors will headline Fall in! Love (also known as Grumpy Romance and A Proper Romance). The series presents a fun twist on the typical office romance, turning a past military relationship upside down. The show is written by Kim Ha-na (Heartbeat, My Secret Romance) and directed by Nam Sung-woo (My Lovely Liar, My Roommate Is a Gumiho).
The story follows Na Jung-seok (Park Hyung-sik), the flawless CEO of a successful outdoor camping brand. His organized life faces a shake-up when Woo A-mi (Park Gyu-young), his former superior from his military days, joins his company as a new employee.
A Role Reversal With a Military Twist
The drama uses a setting where the usual power dynamics are completely switched. In the past, Jung-seok was a timid soldier who had trouble fitting into army life. A-mi, however, was a fearless Special Forces officer known by the nickname “Viper”.
Now, years later, Jung-seok has changed himself into a confident and hands-on business leader. A-mi, after finishing her service, is trying to find her place in the regular work world. The show plays with the funny and awkward situation of a former commander now answering to someone she used to train.
Nam Sung-woo said, “The reunion of these two, now as CEO and an entry-level employee, sets the stage for an unpredictable, high-stakes romantic tug-of-war.”
This role reversal sets up conflict and comedy, as the former “Viper” has to learn office tasks from the man who once followed her orders.
What to Expect From the Leads
Park Hyung-sik is known for his charm in dramas like Strong Girl Bong-soon, Happiness, and Doctor Slump. He is expected to bring both humor and warmth to the role of Jung-seok. The actor recently won the Best Actor Award at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards for his intense role in Buried Hearts. This new series marks a return to the romantic-comedy genre that made him a favorite among viewers.
Park Gyu-young has built a strong resume with roles in Sweet Home, Celebrity, and Squid Game Seasons 2 and 3. She will play A-mi with a mix of strength and charm, showing a softer side as her tough character deals with the challenges of a desk job.
