The wait is almost over for fans of intense Korean thrillers. tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Siren’s Kiss” is scheduled to premiere on March 2, 2026, bringing together a star-studded cast led by Park Min Young and Wi Ha Joon. This romance thriller, which also streams globally on Prime Video, tells the story of a captivating art auctioneer suspected of being connected to the deaths of all the men who loved her.
The drama follows Cha Woo Seok, an insurance investigator played by Wi Ha Joon, who starts looking into a series of mysterious deaths linked to insurance fraud. His investigation leads him directly to Han Seol Ah, portrayed by Park Min Young. As he digs deeper into her secrets, he finds himself falling into a dangerous attraction that could cost him his life. The series asks one central question that keeps viewers guessing: Is she a killer, or is she being framed?
Based on the 1999 Japanese television series “Ice World” (Koori no Sekai) by Hisashi Nozawa, this adaptation brings a fresh Korean perspective to the chilling story. Director Kim Cheol Gyu, known for his work on critically acclaimed dramas like “Flower of Evil” and “Celebrity,” leads the production . With 12 episodes planned, the show promises to deliver suspense, psychological tension, and unexpected twists .
Here is everything you need to know about the cast and characters bringing this dangerous story to life.
Park Min Young Steps into the Mysterious Role of Han Seol Ah
Park Min Young takes on the complex character of Han Seol Ah, a fine art auctioneer who works as the chief auctioneer and head of the auction team at Royal Auction, the nation’s top art auction house . On the surface, she appears flawless. She possesses stunning beauty, a confident voice, and bold charm that captivates everyone around her. But beneath this perfect exterior lies a chilling secret.
All the men who have ever loved Han Seol Ah have died under mysterious circumstances. Before their deaths, each of these men took out large life insurance policies with Han Seol Ah named as the beneficiary . This pattern naturally raises serious suspicions and makes her the prime suspect in an insurance fraud investigation.
For Park Min Young, this role marks a significant departure from her previous characters. The actress, widely loved for her performances in hits like “Marry My Husband” and “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” described Han Seol Ah as “a woman who has confined herself within ice” . To prepare for the role, Park made deliberate physical changes. She drank nearly three liters of water daily and avoided solid food to capture her character’s emotional emptiness. “Han Seol-ah is a woman who has emotionally stopped nourishing herself,” Park explained in an interview with Variety. “Surrounded by repeated tragedy, she survives on water and alcohol alone” .
She also used the lowest vocal register she could produce and added a slight breathiness to her delivery, creating a voice unlike anything she has attempted before. The styling for her character also evolved throughout the drama. Strong colors and bold materials define Han Seol Ah’s public persona, while neutral tones and slim silhouettes appear during her more private moments .
Wi Ha Joon Transforms into Investigator Cha Woo Seok
Wi Ha Joon, who gained international fame through “Squid Game” and recently starred in “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon,” plays Cha Woo Seok. He is an ace investigator with the Insurance Fraud Investigation Unit (SIU). Known for his razor-sharp instincts and exceptional insight, Cha Woo Seok has held the industry’s top arrest record for life insurance fraud cases for years .
His character is dedicated to bringing down those who turn human lives into profit. His unshakable rationality faces its biggest challenge when he receives an anonymous tip that leads him directly to Han Seol Ah. What starts as a professional investigation slowly turns into something far more dangerous as he becomes entangled in her world.
Wi Ha Joon shared that he read the entire script in one sitting, which he described as unusual for him. He was drawn to both the series’ tension and its undertow of warmth. “Although the series is dense and filled with tension, it also carries warmth and a sense of human compassion,” he said, suggesting the show could offer viewers “a sense of healing simply through watching” .
For the action sequences, Wi focused less on technique and more on what each movement could reveal emotionally about his character. “I wanted each movement to reveal his emotional state, his mindset, and his relationship with the person he is facing,” he explained .
Kim Jung Hyun Brings Mystery as Baek Joon Beom
Kim Jung Hyun, remembered for his roles in “Crash Landing on You” and “Mr. Queen,” joins the cast as Baek Joon Beom. He is a mysterious start-up CEO who wants to make Han Seol Ah his significant other . His character adds another layer of tension to the story, creating a love triangle that keeps viewers on edge.
Unlike Cha Woo Seok who wants to uncover the truth about Han Seol Ah, Baek Joon Beom approaches her with different intentions. His past and his connection to the central mystery remain hidden, making him an unpredictable force in the drama.
Kim Jung Hyun described his character’s instability as the main attraction of the role. “His demeanor shifts dramatically depending on the situation. At times he treats people as objects; at others, he shows an almost excessive warmth,” the actor said . He offered a poetic description of his character’s relationship to Han Seol Ah: “If Han Seol-ah is the sun, Baek Joon-beom is Icarus” .
The dynamic between the three main characters is complicated. Park Min Young described their relationship as not beginning “with warmth or affection” but rather “starting from emotions closer to resentment. They dislike each other, yet cannot help but want to see one another again” . Wi Ha Joon called their connection a “precarious boundary between suspicion, love, and obsession” .
Supporting Cast Adds Depth to the Mystery
Beyond the main trio, several other actors round out the cast, each bringing important elements to the story.
Lee Elijah appears in the drama as Kim Yun Ji . While specific details about her character remain under wraps, her presence in the cast adds another experienced actor to the lineup. Lee Elijah has built a solid reputation through various dramas and her role is expected to connect to the central mystery.
Han Chae Rin, a rising actress who debuted in 2025, joins the cast as Do Eun Hye . Her character is the younger sister of Do Eun Hyuk, who is a close friend of Han Seol Ah. Do Eun Hye serves as the sole witness to a key incident and strongly suspects Han Seol Ah, leading to confrontations between the two characters .
Han Chae Rin shared her excitement about the project, saying, “It is a great honor to work with respected seniors. I want to do well and hope to meet expectations. I will do my best not to tarnish the work” . She previously appeared in “Riding Life” as the mysterious tutor Yoo So Yeon and played the passionate lawyer Min Ye Rin in tvN’s “Our Unwritten Seoul.”
Han Joon Woo takes on the role of Do Eun Hyuk, the close friend of Han Seol Ah and the older brother of Do Eun Hye . His character’s connection to the main suspect adds another layer to the investigation.
The Creative Team Behind the Drama
The drama benefits from strong leadership both on and off the screen. Director Kim Cheol Gyu brings his expertise from directing “Flower of Evil,” one of the most celebrated Korean thrillers of recent years, as well as the Netflix hit “Celebrity” . His visual style and ability to build tension make him the perfect choice for this material.
Kim Cheol Gyu described the series as one filled with “fresh concepts, unpredictable storytelling, and striking visual composition” . He added that the genre “allows and demands a director to fully express their creative vision, imagination, and personal style” . Working on “Siren’s Kiss” represented for him “a tremendous stroke of luck.”
The drama uses an art auction house setting extensively. Kim Cheol Gyu noted that “a remarkable number of artworks appear throughout the series โ perhaps more than in any drama to date,” and these works “interact organically with the characters’ psychology, costumes, and emotional states” . Park Min Young added that the production employed a camera lens previously unused in Korean drama, creating a look she describes as “dangerously beautiful” .
The series is written by Lee Young and created by Cho Hyun Kyung . Production comes from Studio Dragon, the company behind global hits like “Crash Landing on You,” “The Glory,” and “Queen of Tears,” working together with Cape E&A .
The musical score, composed by Heo Sung Jin, aims to be “entirely unique to this series,” with the creative team expecting the soundtrack to draw significant attention upon release.
