The upcoming Korean drama “Dive Into You” has given fans a fresh look at Park Seo Ham’s character. New stills show him as a quiet bodyguard who protects his first love, played by Kim Ji Yeon (also known as Bona from WJSN). The fantasy romance series is set to arrive on September 26 and will be available on Viki for global audiences.
The drama tells a story of love, loss, and second chances. Kim Ji Yeon stars as Yoon Ha Na, a top actress who suffers from emotional blunting. She cannot properly recognise her own feelings. The only person she opens up to is Jung Woo Jae (Park Seo Ham) , her bodyguard and first love who has stayed by her side since their school days.
A Bodyguard With A Judo Past
Park Seo Ham takes on the role of Jung Woo Jae, a reserved and cool-headed bodyguard. His judo skills are as good as a national athlete’s. He was once a promising judo player but had to quit the sport. Now he works as a bodyguard for Yoon Ha Na, the woman he has loved since high school.
Newly released stills show the contrast between present-day Jung Woo Jae and his younger self from 2010. As a bodyguard, he looks mature and dependable in a sharp suit. As a teenager, he wears a judo uniform at a competition. This contrast makes viewers wonder why he had to give up his beloved sport.
The drama’s teaser gives a peek into his protective nature. A line from Jung Woo Jae says, “I will protect you”. This promise sets up the emotional core of the story.
A Time-Travel Twist With Soul Swapping
“Dive Into You” is not a simple romance. The plot includes soul swapping and time travel. Yoon Ha Na gets into a near-fatal accident and finds herself swapped into her twin brother Yoon Ha Ru’s body. Her brother is played by Jang Se Hyuk.
The twins discover they can travel back in time using an old camcorder. They return to the past to stop Jung Woo Jae’s death. Yoon Ha Na is determined to save him at any cost.
The story gets more interesting when the siblings arrive in the past. Their souls are swapped again, leading to funny and awkward moments. Yoon Ha Na’s soul ends up in her brother’s body. She gets shocked at the sight of a man’s bare body and becomes flustered around Jung Woo Jae. Meanwhile, Yoon Ha Ru’s soul adapts well to his sister’s body and enjoys the situation.
Supporting Cast Adds Depth
The drama has a strong supporting cast. Jang Se Hyuk plays Yoon Ha Ru, Yoon Ha Na’s twin brother. He is an Olympic gold medallist and national judo athlete. After the soul swap, he finds himself living inside his sister’s body.
Moon Seung Yoo appears as Seo Ye Rang, the confident CEO of Yoon Ha Na’s agency. She is also Yoon Ha Ru’s girlfriend. She is known for her sharp judgment but shows a softer side through her relationship with Haru.
The series is written by Kim Bo Geum and Lee On. So Jae Hyun serves as the director. The production comes from Korean companies Dexter Pictures and Amuse Entertainment, with US-based streamer Rakuten Viki as co-producer.
