Lokesh Kanagaraj has revealed the main characters of his upcoming film Coolie, with a special spotlight on Rajinikanth’s role as Deva. The director revealed Rajinikanth’s character poster on X (formerly Twitter), sparking excitement among fans and movie enthusiasts alike. This reveal comes after a series of character posters showcasing the diverse and intriguing personalities in the film.
Lokesh Kanagaraj took to social media to introduce Rajinikanth as Deva, sharing a poster where the iconic actor is seen holding a coolie’s number tag with 1421 printed on it. The poster stands out with its monochrome theme, except for the vivid pop of red on the number tag. Rajinikanth, dressed in a dark shirt with a dog tag around his neck, exudes a commanding presence that promises an intense portrayal of his character. Lokesh expressed his gratitude to Rajinikanth, writing, “Superstar Rajinikanth sir as Deva in Coolie. Thank you so much for this, Rajinikanth sir. It’s going to be a blast.”

Besides Rajinikanth’s Deva, Coolie features a lineup of diverse characters, each with unique traits and accessories, as introduced by Lokesh Kanagaraj:
Daya – Played by Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir, Daya is depicted with a distinctive watch, hinting at the character’s possible obsession with time or control over it.
Simon – Portrayed by Telugu actor Nagarjuna, Simon is also associated with a watch and a red scarf, adding a layer of mystery to his character.
Preethi – Shruti Haasan takes on the role of Preethi, an intense character seen holding a shovel in her poster. Her stern look suggests a determined or possibly rebellious nature.
Rajasekhar – Veteran actor Sathyaraj plays Rajasekhar, who is seen with a red wire entangled around his hand, potentially symbolizing entrapment or a complex backstory.
