A group dinner on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City becomes the latest battleground over a mysterious plane incident. Heather Gay tries to get answers from Meredith Marks, but hits what she calls a “stone wall of denial.” The clash centers on a furious argument between Marks and Britani Bateman that allegedly happened off-camera during a flight home from a group trip.

The ongoing dispute has put Gay and Marks’ long-term friendship on fragile ground. In a new clip, Mary Cosby urges the two women to address their issues directly at the dinner table.

The Peace Offering That Failed

The tension surfaces when Gay brings up a necklace she received from Marks. Gay explains that fellow cast member Bronwyn Newport kept calling the gift a “peace offering” from Marks.

In response, Marks states she noticed Gay seemed “tense” with her. “I said, ‘Well, then I’ll bring her a gift as a peace offering.’ I think that’s a nice thing. If you don’t think it’s nice, don’t keep it,” Marks says.

Gay insists she is not rejecting the gift but wants to discuss the real cause of their rift. Marks quickly refuses, saying she does not want to have that serious conversation “as a group”. In a separate interview, Marks expresses frustration, believing Gay wants to involve everyone to “rile people up” and target her again.

“I’m not sure how to speak to somebody like this. I’ve never been in a situation where it’s just like a stone wall of denial,” Heather Gay says in a confessional about her interaction with Meredith Marks.

The Unresolved Plane Incident

The core of their disagreement stems from an incident on a flight from Barbados to Utah. The conflict followed a crossover yacht trip with the cast of Below Deck: Down Under.

According to multiple cast members, Marks became extremely upset with Britani Bateman. Bateman had mentioned rumors from TikTok about Marks’ husband, Seth Marks, and a possible indiscretion during a dinner on the yacht.

Heather Gay describes Marks as “completely out of her mind” and “unhinged” on the flight, saying she was yelling and screaming. Angie Katsanevas recalls the scene starting at the airport before they even boarded the plane. Mary Cosby says Marks “started reliving what Britani said” and her anger “spiraled for hours” during the roughly eight-hour flight.

Whitney Rose alleges Marks began “calling Britani names” and talking loudly so the entire first-class cabin could hear. Bateman claims she was so upset she needed to be carried from the plane after landing.

Marks and Lisa Barlow tell a different story. Marks states she only vented to Barlow and “never engaged with Britani.” She denies screaming and says, “Obviously nothing was that deep because I would’ve been arrested by an air marshal”. Barlow claims she only intervened once to tell Bateman, “just give her the fโ€“king TikTok”.

A major point of contention is the lack of video proof, as cameras were not rolling during the flight. When asked why no one filmed it, Gay suggested someone might have recorded it, hinting that more could be revealed later in the season.

Accusations Fly at a Tense Dinner

Back at the group dinner, Gay tells Marks she was deeply “hurt” when Marks implied she was a “liar” for supporting Bateman’s version of events. She accuses Marks of “assassinating her character” and dismissing their history and loyalty.

The standoff prompts Lisa Barlow to finally speak up. “Everybody makes mistakes in friendships and you can’t constantly hold people to this crazy standard that you don’t even hold yourself,” Barlow tells the group.

This is not the only heated exchange about the plane incident. In a previous episode, Whitney Rose called Meredith Marks a “liar” during an argument. Marks doubled down on the accusation, leading Rose to fire back with labels of her own, including “pill-popper”. An enraged Marks then produced a drug test, which everyone declined to take.

Mary Cosby’s Attempt to Mediate

Mary Cosby, who encouraged the conversation at the dinner, has her own complicated history with the group. After stepping away from the show for a season, she returned as a full-time cast member. Her relationship with Angie Katsanevas has transformed from distant to close, with the two now calling each other “besties”.

In a recent episode, Cosby reopened her church, Faith Temple Pentecostal Church, after two years of renovations and invited the cast. She expressed hope that the experience would help the women with “some soul searching”.

For some cast members, the visit was meaningful. “Getting a blessing from Mary M. Cosby, the First Lady of Faith Pentecostal, is an event,” Heather Gay said. She believed the moment, where Cosby had the women hold hands and pray in a circle, was an attempt to help them “bury the hatchet”.

Meredith Marks also acknowledged the positive effect, noting she was “not in a great place” at the time and appreciated the “positive energy”. Cosby stated her goal was simple: “If I could say one thing that would maybe change your whole way of thinking, and put you on a right path, I’ll do it”.
