What Is Rooster About?
Steve Carell plays Greg Russo, a famous author who writes a popular book series . His nickname comes from the lead character in his novels, also called Rooster. Greg visits his daughter Katie, played by Charly Clive, who works as a professor at Ludlow College .
Katie faces major personal problems. Her husband, played by Phil Dunster (Jamie Tartt from Ted Lasso), leaves her for a graduate student . In anger, she punches her husband and accidentally burns down a faculty house . The college dean, played by John C. McGinley, tells Greg he must give a series of talks to fix the college reputation .
