Hoshi and Woozi, members of the renowned K-pop group SEVENTEEN, are set to debut as a new subunit according to recent reports. This collaboration follows their previous musical partnership eight years ago with the track “Shoot Me Before You Go” from SEVENTEEN’s album “Teen, Age” in 2017.

Daily Sports announced on December 25, 2024, that Hoshi and Woozi will unite to release new music. This marks the second time a duo from SEVENTEEN has formed a subunit, following the release of “This Man” by Jeonghan and Wonwoo on June 17, 2024. Known among fans as Soonhoon, both members share the birth year of 1996, with Hoshi leading the performance team and Woozi heading the vocal team, bringing their unique talents to this new venture.

“On December 25, 2024, the South Korean media outlet Daily Sports has released an exclusive report stating that a new subunit will be debuting from the K-pop group SEVENTEEN. The members Woozi and Hoshi will be teaming up to release new music according to the publication.”

In addition to this new subunit, Hoshi is also scheduled to continue his activities with another SEVENTEEN subunit, BSS (BooSeokSoon), which includes DK and Seungkwan. BSS is planning a comeback in January 2025.

SEVENTEEN consists of thirteen members: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. Since their debut in 2015 with the album “17 Carat” under Pledis Entertainment, the group has been celebrated for their self-produced music, with significant involvement in composition and songwriting. They are also known for their dynamic and complex dance performances.

In terms of recent activities, SEVENTEEN released their compilation album “SEVENTEEN BEST ALBUM ‘17 IS RIGHT HERE’” on April 29, 2024, featuring the music video for the track “MAESTRO”. They also made history by being the first K-pop group to perform at the Glastonbury Festival in 2024 and headlined the Lollapalooza Festival in Germany on September 7 and 8, 2024.

This news of a new subunit from SEVENTEEN adds to the group’s legacy of innovation and fan engagement within the K-pop scene.
