SEVENTEEN member Mingyu has recently been caught up in a controversy following claims that he was seen partying at a club. These allegations emerged from a series of screenshots supposedly revealing a conversation between a club manager and an acquaintance. The messages suggested Mingyu was at the club, drinking and requesting that women be brought to his table.

The accusations gained significant traction, amassing over 2.1 million views. However, fans swiftly moved to disprove these claims, providing a detailed counter-narrative.

Fans Quickly Address Clubbing Allegations

The date of the alleged club visit was not specified, but fans pointed out that Mingyu had a well-documented schedule on July 28, 2024. On that day, he was active on Weverse, interacting with fans, and also seen working out at the gym. This schedule appears inconsistent with the timing of the alleged club appearance.

Additionally, a closer examination of the “proof video” provided by the club manager revealed that it was difficult to confirm if the man in the footage was actually Mingyu.

Allegations Questioned for Credibility

The account that initially posted the accusations has faced criticism for its credibility. Fans noted that the account’s header included references to Mingyu’s past Itaewon controversy during the COVID-19 pandemic, suggesting that the account may have a history of spreading negative information about him. The account has since been set to private.

Fans have further accused the account of having a pattern of sharing harmful content about SEVENTEEN. This has led to widespread skepticism about the authenticity of the clubbing claims.
