The pair, who declared their split in July 2023, finalized their divorce in accordance with their prenuptial agreement, allowing both parties to retain their individual assets amassed during their seven-year union.

The divorce proceedings, as reported by TMZ on Friday, February 9, concluded with mutual respect, with neither party seeking spousal support. This resolution comes as no surprise considering their prenuptial agreement outlined the terms for asset distribution.

The absence of children in their marriage played a pivotal role in the smooth settlement. This fact was also cited as one of the reasons for their separation. In an interview with El País, Vergara explained, “My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to be an old mom.” Having had her first child at 19 and now a grandmother-to-be, Sofia Vergara emphasized her readiness for this new phase of life.
