In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Sofia Vergara opened up about her highly publicized divorce from Joe Manganiello. The actress, known for her role in “Modern Family,” shared her thoughts on navigating the challenges of a celebrity breakup.
Vergara admitted that she anticipated the media frenzy that followed the announcement of their separation in June 2023. “You’re out there [in the public eye], and people know that’s part of being a celebrity. I knew it was gonna happen. You can’t hide those things,” she explained.
Surprisingly, Vergara expressed gratitude for the respectful and considerate media coverage during that period. She noted, “It wasn’t bad. I have to say the press was very respectful and very nice. And I thought that they were gonna invent more things, and you know how it usually is.”
The actress revealed that she was surprised by the type of media coverage her divorce received. Contrary to her expectations, the press reported the facts without embellishments. The couple issued a joint statement in July 2023, emphasizing their mutual love and care while urging privacy during the transitional period. Joe Manganiello officially filed for divorce two days later, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Having overcome the challenges of the divorce, Vergara shared that she is now focusing on living her best life. In the CBS interview, she mentioned, “And, you know, I’ve been moving on.” The actress is currently looking forward to her upcoming Netflix limited series, “Griselda,” where she takes on the role of Griselda Blanco, a significant figure in the cocaine-based drug trade during the 1980s.
As Vergara embraces the present and future, she expressed excitement for her skincare brand, Toty, which has been well-received for its high-quality products. Looking ahead, she hinted at numerous projects lined up for the next year, saying, “I have a lot of projects for next year that hopefully people will love as well.”
Both Vergara and Manganiello have moved on to new relationships since their split. Vergara has been spotted on multiple dates with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman, while Manganiello is in a relationship with actress Caitlin O’Connor.
