Son Suk-ku and Kim Da-mi brought laughter and excitement to the May 27 episode of SBS’s variety show Whenever Possible. The actors, who star together in the upcoming Disney+ thriller Nine Puzzle, appeared as “gap-time friends” and shared funny behind-the-scenes stories. The highlight of the episode was Son Suk-ku teasing Yoo Yeon-seok for his unexpected visit to their drama set.

During the show, Yoo Yeon-seok revealed he had visited the Nine Puzzle filming location to support the team. Fellow MC Yoo Jae-suk jokingly asked, “Did you go just to suck up to the director?” making everyone laugh. Yoo Yeon-seok defended himself, saying, “You know how it is—we visit directors we’re close to and cheer them on.”

Son Suk-ku didn’t let him off easy. With a smirk, he said, “I usually don’t go myself—I might send a coffee truck at most. But he actually showed up in person.” He added, “It seems like he had quite the motive,” teaming up with Yoo Jae-suk to playfully corner Yoo Yeon-seok. The moment became one of the funniest parts of the episode.

Meanwhile, Kim Da-mi made her first-ever variety show appearance, admitting she was nervous at first. She said, “This is my first time appearing on a TV variety show. It felt awkward.” Despite her initial shyness, she impressed everyone with her reactions. Yoo Jae-suk praised her, saying, “She listens really well and has great reactions.”

The episode also featured fun challenges in Dogok-dong, where Son Suk-ku and Kim Da-mi explored hidden spots. Son Suk-ku shared his nickname, “Yangjaecheon Raccoon,” because he jogs at Yangjaecheon every morning. The cast also bonded over their struggles with filming in extreme weather. Yoo Yeon-seok joked, “My mouth doesn’t work—I just want to go home,” while Son Suk-ku added, “I always want to go home, whether it’s summer or winter.”

Nine Puzzle is a new Disney+ thriller about a criminal profiler (Kim Da-mi) and a detective (Son Suk-ku) solving a series of murders linked to her past. The show has already topped streaming charts in South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. New episodes (7-9) were released on May 28, with more coming on June 4.

The episode of Whenever Possible was a ratings hit, peaking at 5.6% viewership. Fans loved the chemistry between the cast, especially Son Suk-ku’s playful teasing and Kim Da-mi’s charming variety debut.
