Squid Game season 2 is set to return with more intense action and high stakes. Ahead of its premiere, new posters have been released, giving fans a closer look at the characters entering the deadly game.
New Posters Reveal Tension and Familiar Faces
On November 14, 2024, the production company behind Squid Game released two new posters showcasing some of the lead characters. The posters feature a surreal, maze-like structure with pastel-colored walls in shades of pink, blue, and yellow—reminiscent of the iconic design from season 1. Rows of masked guards in pink jumpsuits are lined up on the stairs and corridors, while Lee Byung Hun as the Front Man stands unmasked among them, adding a sense of mystery to the atmosphere.
The new contestants are shown in green tracksuits with unique numbers, all walking with tense expressions. Among them is Lee Jung Jae, who returns as Seong Gi Hun, the only one looking upward, suggesting his awareness of the deadly game’s consequences.
New Characters Join the Game
The latest stills also provide a look at some new contestants, including Kang Ha Neul, Im Si Wan, and Jo Yuri. These new players, along with returning faces, will face deadly challenges as part of the game. Some of the new players include:
- Myung Gi, a crypto YouTuber who lost his fortune on bad investments
- Yong Sik, who enters the game to pay off gambling debts, accompanied by his mother Geum Ja, who is determined to protect her family
- Joon Hee, who is seeking redemption after losing money on unreliable investments
Plot and Release Details
The story picks up right where season 1 ended, with Seong Gi Hun (played by Lee Jung Jae) re-entering the game instead of meeting his daughter, setting the stage for more drama and intense moments. Hwang Jun Ho, played by Wi Ha Jun, is also expected to return as the determined police officer who will likely form an alliance with Seong Gi Hun to uncover the truth about the Front Man.
Directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk, Squid Game season 2 will premiere on December 26, 2024 on Netflix. Fans can expect returning characters like Lee Byung Hun as the enigmatic Front Man and Gong Yoo as the charismatic recruiter.
The new cast for the second season includes Kang Ha Neul, Im Si Wan, Jo Yuri, Park Gyu Yong, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Lee David, Lee Jin Wook, T.O.P., and others, adding new faces to the intense competition.
