Sophie Turner is at the center of a dangerous robbery in the first poster for Prime Video’s new thriller, Steal. The series will be released in full on January 21, 2026. The poster shows Turner’s character looking serious, with the text “The heist is just the beginning,” hinting at a complex story. The show is a six-part series where all episodes will be available at once for viewers in over 240 countries.

What Steal Is About
Steal is a new series from Amazon MGM Studios and Drama Republic, the production company behind shows like Doctor Foster and Netflix’s One Day. The story follows Zara, played by Sophie Turner, an ordinary office worker at a pension fund investment company called Lochmill Capital. A normal workday turns into a crisis when a gang of violent thieves storms the office. They take Zara and her best friend Luke, played by Archie Madekwe, hostage. The criminals force them to help carry out a major heist targeting billions of pounds from people’s pension funds.
The official description asks: “But who would steal billions of pounds of ordinary peopleโs pensions and why?”
Trying to solve this massive crime is DCI Rhys, played by Jacob Fortune-Lloyd. He is a detective dealing with a recent return to gambling addiction while he works on the case. He must manage his personal money problems while uncovering the hidden plans and competing interests behind this far-reaching crime.
The Creative Team and Cast Behind the Series
The series was created by S.A. Nikias, a novelist making their first move into screenwriting. The directors are Sam Miller (known for I May Destroy You) and Hettie Macdonald (known for Normal People). The executive producers are Greg Brenman and Rebecca de Souza from Drama Republic, with Nuala O’Leary as producer.
The main cast brings together actors from popular shows and movies:
- Sophie Turner plays Zara. Turner is best known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones.
- Archie Madekwe plays Luke, Zara’s best friend at the office. Madekwe was in the films Saltburn and Gran Turismo.
- Jacob Fortune-Lloyd plays DCI Rhys. He has appeared in the Netflix series Bodies and The Queen’s Gambit.
- Ellie James also appears in a supporting role as another investigator on the case.
