NBC’s new cheerleading comedy Stumble has a new episode ready, but fans have to wait a little longer. Episode 4, titled “Button Day,” was delayed due to a holiday football game. The show will return with a special, later time slot for this next chapter.

Why Episode 4 Did Not Air on November 28

A new episode of Stumble was not shown on its regular Friday night, November 28, 2025. NBC cleared its usual primetime schedule for a live college football game. Story Details and Plot for ‘Button Day’

Episode 4, “Button Day,” puts Coach Courteney Potter in a tough spot. Her cheer department is running out of money. To save the program, she makes a deal with the owner of the local Button Factory. He promises to write a large check to fund the squad, but only if her team can perform a perfect, dazzling routine at the annual Button Day celebration.

The task becomes much harder because the team’s best flyer, Krystal (played by Anissa Borrego), is still injured. With no other choice, Courteney decides to promote Peaches (Taylor Dunbar) to the crucial flying position, even though Peaches might not be ready for the pressure.

At home, Courteney’s husband Boon (Taran Killam) is dealing with his own challenge. He is trying to make their new houseguest, cheerleader Sally (Georgie Murphy), feel comfortable living with them.

What Happened in the Previous Episode

In Episode 3, “In Sync,” several storylines unfolded. Coach Courteney spent much of the episode worried she might be pregnant, which caused her to briefly overlook Sally’s personal struggles. It was revealed that Sally had been living out of her car. By the end of the episode, Courteney found out she was not pregnant, and she and Boon decided to let Sally move in with them. The episode also focused on team dynamics, showing how team member DiMarcus often felt overlooked.
