The toxic and addictive relationship between Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco is set to return for another season. Hulu has officially confirmed the details for the highly anticipated third season of its popular drama, Tell Me Lies. The new season will pick up directly after the shocking betrayal that closed the second season, promising more secrets and consequences for the entire friend group.
When to Watch: Season 3 Release Schedule
Mark your calendars: Tell Me Lies Season 3 will premiere on January 13, 2026. The season will launch with its first two episodes on Hulu, as well as on Disney+ through the Hulu bundle in the U.S. and on Disney+ internationally. The season will consist of eight episodes in total, with new episodes released weekly. The season finale is scheduled to stream on February 24, 2026.
Picking Up the Pieces: The Season 3 Storyline
The official plot for the new season promises to continue the chaotic lives of Lucy and Stephen. The story finds them having rekindled their tumultuous romance just in time for the spring semester at Baird College. They both promise that things will be different this time, but their past mistakes quickly get in the way of their good intentions. Lucy is pulled into a controversy she wants no part of, while the disastrous fallout from the previous year forces all of their friends to confront their own destructive behaviors. As scandalous secrets continue to spread across campus, Lucy and her entire circle face vicious consequences.
This directly follows the Season 2 finale, which ended with the wedding day of Bree and Evan. Just before the ceremony, Bree received a voice message from Stephen containing a recording of Evan confessing that he had cheated on her with Lucy. Season 3 is expected to start in the immediate aftermath of this revelation.
โItโs the peak of all of these peopleโs worst decisions, so get ready!โ teased star Grace Van Patten.
The showโs creator, Meaghan Oppenheimer, also hinted that the fallout from the voicemail will be “vast and brutal and wild,” but may not play out as viewers expect.
Who’s In and Who’s New: The Season 3 Cast
The core cast members are returning for the new season. This includes Grace Van Patten as Lucy and Jackson White as Stephen. Other returning stars include Catherine Missal as Bree, Sonia Mena as Pippa, Spencer House as Wrigley, Branden Cook as Evan, and Alicia Crowder as Diana. Tom Ellis will also reprise his role as Oliver.
The season also introduces new faces to the drama. Iris Apatow has joined the cast in the recurring role of Amanda, a bubbly but fragile college freshman who is hiding a big secret. Additionally, Costa DโAngelo has been cast as a series regular, playing Alex, a psychology graduate student and part-time drug dealer who shares a complicated history with Bree.
Behind the Scenes: A Darker Chapter
According to the cast, the upcoming season is the most intense one yet. Van Patten shared that the new season expands its focus beyond just Lucy and Stephen.
โSeason 3 really dives into the other characters, other than Stephen and Lucy. You really start to see everyoneโs web get more and more tangled until weโre all one messy, entangled web,โ she told Glamour.
Tom Ellis, who plays Oliver, described the new season as “probably the darkest season of Tell Me Lies so far,” noting that “there are some unlikely partnerships that start to happen.”
The series is produced by 20th Television, with Meaghan Oppenheimer serving as showrunner and executive producer. Emma Roberts also executive produces under her Belletrist banner.
