A new series on Disney+ pulls viewers into a real twenty-year investigation that shocked France. The Lost Station Girls, a six-part French true crime drama, follows the relentless search for a perpetrator behind a series of terrible crimes against young women near a train station in the south of France. The show, which started streaming on October 8, 2025, stars Camille Razat of Emily in Paris fame as a young investigator consumed by the case.
The Real-Life Case That Inspired the Show
The series is inspired by a string of real events that took place between 1995 and 2001 in the city of Perpignan. The story begins when a teenage girl disappears and three young women are murdered, all near the Perpignan train station. The victims, all brunettes, were given a collective name by the press: “The Lost Station Girls.”
The show’s director, Virginie Sauveur, recalled already knowing the story “by heart” before taking on the project. She stated that the series is not just a thriller but also an emotional journey into the impact of the crimes.
“The Lost Station Girls is mainly the story of violence against women. It is the story of the descent into the hell of all those who remain, the family members who remain in the most terrible dismay with their questions, their ghosts,” Sauveur said.
A Two-Decade Investigation for Justice
The series follows Flore Robin, a young investigator who begins her first day with the police force on the very day the first victim is discovered. Thrown into the deep end, she must work with police captain Franck Vidal and her mentor, Fรฉlix Sabueso, to track down the person responsible. The plot spans an extraordinary twenty-year investigation, showing how the case haunts all those involved.
Alongside the police investigation, the series also focuses on the personal stories of the victims’ families. It highlights a mother who never gives up hope of finding her missing daughter, showing the human cost of the crimes.
The Cast and Creative Team
The series brings together a strong French cast led by Camille Razat as the determined investigator Flore Robin. She is joined by Hugo Becker as Captain Franck Vidal and Patrick Timsit as her mentor, Fรฉlix Sabueso. The cast also includes Mรฉlanie Doutey, Kรฉvin Azaรฏs, and Yannick Choirat.
The creator of the series, Gaรซlle Bellan, aimed to give a voice to the victims. A Disney+ executive noted that Bellan wanted “to give visibility to the victims [who were] women who were free and full of life,” and to explore broader themes about the female experience in society. The production company behind the show, Itinรฉraire, previously produced the BAFTA-nominated series Oussekine for Disney+.
Release Information and Trailer
The limited series premiered on Disney+ on October 8, 2025. All six episodes were released at once, allowing viewers to follow the intricate investigation from start to finish. The series is also available on Hulu in the United States. A trailer has been released, setting a dark and gripping tone for the show and introducing the key characters and the long hunt for justice.
A Story of Resilience Fight
Beyond the procedural details, the series serves as a look at the lasting trauma of violent crimes. It shows the dedication of the investigators who refused to give up and the resilience of the families who demanded answers for over two decades. By focusing on this real-life case, The Lost Station Girls tells a difficult but important story, reminding audiences of the real people behind the headlines.
